Stock clutch and flywheel went out before 2500 miles off the dealer lot!! No chips all stock at the time! of course we all know about the new dual mask flywheel in 2006. Well dodge replaced it all under warranty. They said they think i just got a bad one or somthin dum like that. I have now had my bully dog on my truck for a while now and very miner slippage unless i make it slip.

Now i know it isnt gonna last if i keep doing more mods. I was wanting to see if anyone had any suggestions on clutchs and flywheel brands. And where to get a good price. Oo.

I'd be curious to know what actually failed on your truck. Was it th PPA , disc or flywheel. My '07 3500 C&C clutch just failed w/2300 mi on it. When I looked over all the parts @ the dealer, I couldn't see anything wrong. I belive the step on the flywheel is machined wrong and as the clutch seated in , the clamping force was lost.

When mine goes I'm going with South Bend Clutch and also beefing up the hydraulics at the same time. I too am curious about the machining of the flywheel, just about everyone that has had a clutch fail says the same thing about no visible evidence to indicate what failed, it then only makes sense that it would have to be the flywheel.

SBC installer in SoCal?

I'm saving my money as we speak for a SBC after 12,000 miles. Can anybody recommend a reputable installer in SoCal? I know of one in the Phoenix area but dread the drive.

My 06 never made it off the dealers lot. It had 23mi. on it. They pulled the trans. and clutch assembly and decided it was the fly wheel although it looked perfect to me. I waited 6 weeks for them to finally get a flywheel. They put everything back together, same problem. Then they ordered a whole clutch assembly. Waited on that for 4 weeks. They couldn't get an 06 clutch so they put an 07 clutch in it. They are a little different. This whole time they let me keep driving my 05 trade-in. I put 6000 more miles on the truck after the deal was made and they ended up knocking a $1000 off our original agreement for all the aggrevation. I was pleased. The 07 clutch is holding alot better than my 05 clutch did (it was a g56 also). I have the exact same tst/edge stack on my 06. The 07 clutch may have a little more plate load. Don't get me wrong though I can still blow right through it, that's why I ordered a southbend DD. Got it last Friday. I can't wait to try it out. This will be my 5th. clutch from Peter and I've been happy with every one. I'm especially excited about this one cause I got the new spring loaded DD. These are brand new. Peter says these are supposed to be quite and smooth engagement even when backing a trailer which I do alot of and they are rated for the same hp as the solid center clutches. I highly reccomend new hydraulics with anything over a #3200 plate load and a must on #3600 and over. Sorry for the long post. SOUTHBEND'S AWESOME!!!

My flywheel went out at 67000 miles. Springs broke in it. Dealer could not tell me when or where a new one would be in. Did some reseach on this deal and went with the S/B package including a new hydraulic system. Have put 8000 miles on with it and no problem so far. I deliver storage sheds so I am backing a lot and have not had any problems at all. There is a little more chatter with this flywheel but at laest you can get parts when you need them.
