06 Cummins upgrades

Hey yall. I'm looking into getting a new 06 2500 4wd and was wondering what would be the first upgrades yall would recommend for the truck. I know quite a bit about the old 24 valves but not much about the common-rail. I already plan on putting stacks and a new cold air intake on it first. Probably an S&B. I also want to get a programmer or a box for it and I want to know if certain ones are recommended more than others for the truck. It will be a daily driver and will do some light hauling a couple times a month. I have a race trailer and a 2-horse trailer. Eventually I will be doing some pulling or drag racing with the truck. Any recommendations would be great.

Not sure what kind of gauges you prefer. Here's my 06' with dual Westach and SRT10 pillar. I have honed injectors from DDP. Going to do Smarty very soon.

Yeah I plan on getting a Bully Dog pillar as soon as I get the intake and exhaust. Probably gonna replace the whole exhaust with a straight pipe or some stacks. Eventually I'll get a turbo upgrade and a fass pump and when i do that I'll put a new valve body and torque converter on it. I have 8 more months left in Iraq probably when I go back next week so I'll have a bit of money saved up to buy goodies.
