06 high idle feature

Do the 2006 trucks have the high idle kick in even if the Coolant is up to temp? Dad's "new" truck (06) goes to high idle with the outdoor temp in the low 20's and coolant at 185deg. His truck has the Smary Jr. on it.

Automatic high idle is based off the exterior temperature, not the coolant temperature. Idle exhaust-brake signal IS based on the coolant temp, it will switch off at 180 degrees F.

Actually, the sensor is in the head, if the head temp gets too low the idle-up feature kicks in.
