06 horn while backing

Another option is to use one of those tap splices. The type you put over 2 wires then snap the cover shut and squeeze with a set of plires. They are also easy to take off. You mave have to cut away a little piece of plastic on the side where the new addon wire goes. Just depends on who makes them

On my 04 i put a switch in the wire going to the doorswitch in the kick panel . It was also nice that the dome light would stay off when the door was open.

Actually I've had the opposite problem on my 06. I've wanted to read a manual once but the computer keeps turning off the light. It gets real nasty about it finally. It will leave it on for only a minute or so.



Dodge has forgotten how to design a truck. If it wasn't for the cummins engine I think they would have folded long ago.

You cold add a relay to the horn so that when our reverse lights are on it breaks the connection on the horn but when you shift to any other position your horn is automatically turned back on.

I hate this feature, I suppose my truck received the reflash at some point. My 03 did not do this really annoying noisy stupid feature. First time this happened I thought I hit the panic button or something. I love the TDR for info on stuff like this.

Exactly right! How else does the pooter know that the door is open. Bypass the switch in the kick panel and it fixes it simply and permanently with the added benefits the poster Cissco describes. Good one Cissco!

Just a question what are you doing with the door open while your backing anyway. Last week went camping and watched a happy camper back with the door open acting like some long haul trucker backing a 265 in wheel base truck in to his spot until out of nowhere one of the posts that line the approach to his camp site grabbed his door. And the horn honking was the least of his problems. please tell me your not the one with the door open at the campground. If not dont understand the hostile message. As for offrod I think there is an A in the word but may be wrong its happen before. As for deposing of me Ill try to be scared till that happens.
