What would be a good intake for me to put on my truck? I am getting ready to straight pipe it with the exception of leaving the kitty on. I am planning on either a quad chip or the banks chip with the shapeshifter when its available. Thanks

The two most talked about seem to be AFE and Scotty. Do a few searches and you will find lots of info. I myself went with the scotty air 5, good choice?? I dunno, I just don't feel like spending 450 bucks on the afe to find out.

Also, as for chossing which chip to buy...

For fun I played on www.bbb.org -- You'll notice one diesel company has like 11 complaints and the others I found had 1 or none...

what can I say, research, research, research... .

And it helps to maybe meet someone in your area that has a chip, and you can see first hand, etc...

Yes RankRam I kept the scotty. ;) I just figured that I was probably asking too much of any intake regarding egt reduction. Perhaps the oil in the filter distributed itself more evenly than when I installed it fresh out of the package, but egts became far more reasonable after 4 or 5 days and 500mi. Besides I would have been "fit to be tied" if I shelled out 450 buck for an afe stg. 2 and saw the same numbers.

Tomey gun Im interested to hear about the blue hose also, and the differences you notice between the afe and scotty.
