I have been looking to buy an 06 mega cab laramie. and cant seem to find one ANYWHERE. I live in nebraska, does anyone know where they all seem to be hiding? Any LARGE dodge dealerships in midwest??

autotrader.com might work,i found my 2007 Mega DRW SLT by mistake-----than actually decided to buy it,even flew 750miles to go have a look, drove home that night and its been great ever since. DW

There is a white 06 Mega 2 wheel drive in Halstead KS at RD Automotive(small dealer). I drive by there once or twice a week. Its been on their lot for at least 6 months maybe longer. Not sure if its a laramie or not though, does have a cummins.

I test drove that very truck in Halstead. It has one small dent on the passenger bed side but still has the new car smell inside. Motor looks in brand new shape just dusty for sitting. Just an SLT with gray cloth and an automatic, the only reason I am not driving it today! 19k when I took it for a spin last summer so they been sitting on it for awhile. Asking 23,500 but now I bet he would deal.

I bought a 06 mega laramie from texas direct auto and it was the best deal I ever made as far as how dealership treated me and how nice the vehicle is. Contact Jeff Gordan (lol not the same guy) and tell him what you want. I added a edge juice with attitude Hot and a special PRESSURE box that I sell (5 min install) and I am amazed at the performance I have. Everything else is stock and still spinning the 285's when shifting into third gear! I can get you the pressure box for only $110 free shipping helps with mileage and really helps throttle response. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is tying you to the 06 and not a different year megacab? Is it coveted like the 98 12v quad cabs?

Yes, still has the 5. 9 without extra emissions junk (new with '07. 5 6. 7L) and doesnt have the ugly tail lights. :-laf

I found several around here back in Feb. , I wanted to upgrade my '06 QC to Mega, but the dealers know they are hard to find and want a premium for them. I just couldnt justify the extra $$$ for a little more cab space. Plus I know my truck has been treated well and nothing is broken, I looked at a couple that it was obvious had been chipped, hot rodded, then stripped and traded in... no thanks!

cwbyhnd19,

I did the same search you are doing in Jan 09 and had to scour the country to find what I was looking for. I wanted an 06 or 07 Mega, 5. 9L, 6speed, Laramie, excellent condition, and a color I liked. I literally looked at every major craigslist.org site in the country, general Google searches and the For Sale sections on dodge truck forum sites like this one.

I kept this up for weeks until I found the truck in my sig right here on the TDR For Sale section. The ad hit the day before I saw it. I contacted the seller that minute, discuss the truck and the deal, and opened an account on Escrow.com and made a deposit. We then traded information and photos. I then flew to North Carolina to visually inspect the truck, accepted it, and drove it home to Denver.

During the time I was looking for an 06 Mega I found perhaps 6 or 7 around the country with 6 speed manuals. There were a few more with autos. Some were high mileage, some were already beat up looking farm trucks, and only a very few had the Laramie package.

Like some of the other posters have said, the 06 Mega's are holding their value better than other years and models.

You will find one, but I think you will need to be willing to search nationally and then travel to get it.

Good luck.
