It looks like DC is going to buy back my 05 because of the vibe issue. It's not a done deal yet but it does look very good. Rather painless if you have good dealer and DC rep to work with.

Anyway, I have the option to order a truck or have the dealer do a search for one like I have now. I would imagine that the paper work will take some time so I was thinking about waiting for the 06 models to come out. Does anyone know when orders will be taken for 06 trucks?



The only downside I see about ordering a new one is that I can test drive it until it's delivered. If I take one on some other dealers lot I guess I can test drive until the cows come home to make sure I get a good one this time.

I would order an 06. It's the easiest way to make sure you get what you want. If it has issues when you go to pick it up, just refuse delivery (assuming that you can wait for something else). Are you getting the 6 speed?

My 05 is an auto so I think I will do the same on the replacement truck. After 267,000 miles of shifting my 99 I kinda like the auto. I still have the 99 and don't plan on getting rid of it so I can wait to order one. I also got the impression from the rep that I can keep driving the 05 until a replacement truck is ready. I may just drop it off at the dealer as soon as the deal is done just to make sure nothing happens to it.





I'd like to add that if the 06 trucks look like the Mega Cab I'll be taking an 05 off the lot. That thing is butt ugly!

If you mean you don't like the front end on the Mega Cab I believe all 06 models have it regardless of cab configuration. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
