'06 MyGig Install Finished

I had been contemplating installing the optional REC NAV system in my truck but, after some prodding by a few TDR members, I decided to go for a MyGig install over the old style NAV unit. All I can say is WOW! This thing does it all and then some (with the help of the Lockpick Adapter). Everything works perfectly!



Here are some of the details:



30G MyGig RER model ending in 4737

Lockpick Adapter v3

Full Unlocked Navigation

Uconnect

Sirius

Full unlocked DVD

Ipod Control (only with 4737 model)

Rear Camera (not installed yet)

Running the newest software version that fixes the clock problem (v2. 064)



The bezel adapter is a heavily modified Metra #99-6510. Lots of trimming, gluing, spot putty and paint required. I lifted this idea from others who have already done the install.

That really looks great, in fact it looks like stock. If you had to do any trimming on what we can see, it sure doesn't show.

Dang, I want one.

Can you attach a photo of how much was trimmed? Did you buy the unit from the dealership?

Scooby - I'll try to get a picture of the bezel adapter in the next day or so. I found the radio, Lockpick Adapter, NAV & Sirius antennas, OEM nav bezel, the bezel adapter, Uconnect mic, and iPod cable on ebay.

Sweet, glad they were able to add the clock to the MyGig. That's one of the reasons I didn't want to try the mod. Main reason is how much hacking to the dash is needed. Would like to see more pics of all the dash and bezel mods you had to do please.

That does look sharp. Like Prairie Dog said, it looks like a stock factory install. But what's really impressive is your choice of music. You need to dial up Terrapin Station on the navigator and go for a road trip. Steal your face, bro!
