Power Steering Issues

I know this has come up several times, and I am still looking into the issue. But, is there anyone that can point me in the right direction to correct this issue? Bought a brand new trailer and during the light test, the Right Turn signal does not work. Testing the trailer, all the lights are working correctly. Truck lights are all working fine, this issue appears to be at the trailer wiring. I did check the factory trailer plug harness (behind the trailer plug on the truck) and nothing for the right turn signal. I do have a T connection for a bed plug, but neither plug on the truck is working in regards to the Right Turn signal. I'm reading that it could be the TIPM since all the lighting does go through that. How do I go about fixing the issue? I've got to get this fixed ASAP.

On 04.5 Trailer Lights had their own fuse for each circuit.
Also if a trailer light has a longer term problem the TIPM shuts down the circuit permanently but can be reset with WiTech a couple times.
IMHO you need to visit a workshop now after you had checked everything that can be done DIY.

'06 apparently had an issue of TIPM problems related to trailer turn signals. Not long after buying mine in '06, I
added separate fuses directly in the signal wires going to the trailer plug. As Ozy says you may need to have a dealer service dept. do a reset if you fail to find another cause such as bad connection or blown fuse.

If you find that the TIPM has failed internally and can't be reset, Dorman makes a plug and play replacement. Just be prepared to have to wait for it. Both times I've purchased one it has taken several weeks to be delivered after order.

***UPDATE***
Took the truck in to get diagnosed. Dealer checked the wiring from the TIPM to the plug. Determined its ok, no short. Determined that there was an internal TIPM failure however did not attempt to flash the TIPM. Quoted me $1500 for a new one that included programming. Questions are; Should they have attempted to program the TIPM? If I get a manufactured TIPM, will it need to be programmed? Dealer says yes. I have a fix that will solve my problem without replacing the TIPM, and am installing a relay box for the trailer wiring. Any service fellas here that can shed some light on this subject? I only trust my own work and get really uneasy when I take the truck into get work done. Especially when I get quotes for $1500 to fix a stupid blinker light.

No programming necessary on the Dorman TIPM. I have the installation sheet in my truck. I'll take a picture of it and post it when I get a chance at work this morning. It was very easy.

Also, it runs $300 to $400 depending on where you source it. You could replace it many times for the cost the dealer is quoting you.

I do not read that your workshop resets the TIPM. They should do that First.

So many shops in the past have forgotten that and just installed a new TIPM on the Owner expense.

I second Ozy. They should have tried to reset the TIPM. Disconnect both batteries or take the main positive line to the TIPM and then remove the TIPM from the fuse box. Look for any burned tracks on the circuit board. If none, chances are good that it might be able to be reset. I built some TIPM savers several years back to directly isolate the TIPM from the trailer plug. It was a poor idea Dodge had by having an expensive TIPM control the trailer plug since trailers can be sources for bad wiring and shorts.
