Traded the 03 in for a 06 so I have been catching up on the 06 issues. Read about the long crank and battery temp codes. I decided to check for any codes. First I did the trip odometer trick and got two codes (I think??). Then I put on my Actron scanner (model CP9145) to verify the codes.

My scanner got the error "can't connect to the truck" (tried everything). I have used this on my old 2003 without problems. I went around to the wifes Suburban and the scanner worked fine.

So now what? My scanner won't work on the 06's?

The codes I got off the dash were funny, they were; C 447, S(or 5??) 116 and another that was a small i 281 (engine hours?).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know if this is the problem but 2003 to 2005 used PCI bus and the 2006 now uses the CAN bus data system.

Your old scanner will not work on the new CAN bus system. The codes you got are cluster codes, not ECU. If there are no codes stored you should get "done" in the odometer. My 06 does not like to give up codes like the my 04 and 03 did. Again it is the new system.

Sag2, Thanks, guess I'm SOL on the scanner for this truck Any place where I can find a listing of the "cluster codes"?
