I second the use of Sea Foam. Just add it to the fuel filter bowl & run the engine fast. It's supposed to be an excellent product for the cleaning of carbon off of injectors.

The 3rd Gen. injectors seem to carbon-up quite easily, especially, if your truck is not run hard on a regular basis. The use of a fuel additive that includes an injector cleaner may help to keep them clean if you are not using your engine hard.

My '03 had an injector knock up to 1400 rpm that was eliminated with the use of fuel additives. I then backed it up with Sea Foam. I know this is backwards but, at the time, I did not know about Sea Foam.

The truck has 1100 miles to date. I run it real hard. I was told the pinging noise was a third injector pulse on the 06 model. I just cant believe the injectors could have carbon on them at 1100 miles. But hey you guys have been doing this a lot longer then me. I will go up to Long Island truck parts and see if they have the stuff you are talking about. Thanks for the imput.

With only 1100 miles & running it hard, you may not be experiencing carbon build-up. It took quite a few miles of not running it hard for my truck to start "knocking". I was not sure if your "pinging" was the same as my "knocking".

Running some sort of fuel additive is a good idea for the lubricity quality, especially, if your part of the country is getting ultra low sulphur diesel, which, is very dry.

Good Luck with getting your problem fixed.
