Unless the Ford and Chevy get even more ugly than they are now... it's something else now. Dodge just went from the top straight to the bottom of the totem pole.

I hear ya, I also have a new '05 Ram. I don't like the looks of the '06 front end. Looks to much like the Durango/Dakota and I always disliked the looks of those trucks. I've owned a 2000 Durango. When it came time to trade her in for a new truck I passed on the new Durango becuase of it's ugly looks and got something else.

I think the worst part about the new Dakota is the angular fender that runs into the door and just stops. If that "bar" across the bottom of the 06's was body color (haven't seen one yet), it might not be too bad. Truth told, it took quite a while for the 3rd gen look to grow on me. Suppose it doesn't matter since after dumping upgrade and maintenance $$$ into my 97, an 06 is out of the question! :{

Thats the dilema I have, I'm pretty skeptical of the '06's, can't wait till August to see them in person. The 3rd Gen DR's are the best looking trucks ever made IMHO. Just coming out of college, $$$ is tight now, but after 2-3 months of good work, life should be good. I've found 2 places that have the 05. 5 that I would order, so we'll see if they are still there in a few months... It will really be painful if the '06's are hideous to me like the new Durango and Dakota are, and I can't find the '05 that I want... :--)

i don't see what the big deal is, the bumper is a lot cleaner and they cut rid of the cut outs under the lights, just get rid of that larimine grill and i think it looks good

The restyle was due to new Federal Regs on various vehicle compatability. Basically, truck and suv bumpers must either be lowered or have some additional structure to prevent a Toyota from being run over. Really sucks from a styling perspective, and therre isn't a da_n thing we can do about it! Give it some time though, I'm sure most people will like the restyle once you see it in person and with different color and trim selections.

Yes, there is something you can do. Don't buy a new truck, sucks but that is what we have come to with all the junk on today's market... . And who really cares about the guy in the Toyota, he should have bought a truck... I'm sick of this federal regulation BS...
