Got my new truck and I was puting in my hitch today and no rear sway bar what gives. my 98 1/2 had one checked tire pressure torqed lug nuts then went for a drive tried some quick lane changes very soft way to much rear end movement any one try an after market sway bar my 98 drove like a race car with a sway bar . Mabe rancho shocks what do you think . "THEN WE WILL GET ER DONE" Oo.

I have also noticed a lot of the newer models without the rear sway bar. The new powerwagons with the front sway bar disconnect do not have a rear sway bar either. A local dodge diesel mechanic at a local dealership here in Vienna VA said that unless you have a camper a rear sway bar is not necessary and you get better articulation and higher up on the ramp index without one. I have been thinking of removing mine but well,,,,, I don't know.

I am very tempted to remove mine because, lets face it, our beautiful trucks have no flex at all. But if I remove it and roll it my wife will remove my cojones.

Dodge says with since the frame is more rigid then the 2g, and the springs are longer or something like that, they feel rear sway bars are not required.

Now that we got Dodge's official idea out of the way, Hellwig makes one. I find that I don't need it towing the 5er, and I think I am going to sell the pickup camper so I might not even need one.

I see the 2007 cab and chassis are going to have sway bars. Maybe you could order one through parts to put on your pickup. Just a thought...
