Draggin' up a dead horse.

So the adhesive on my seat came apart and I had to glue it back again tonight. This is about the 2nd or 3rd time I've been in the foam. One thing that I noticed again is that the springs that hold the wires under the foam are a bit too "springy" and the wires on both sides seem to sink a lot more than the ones in the middle. It almost seems as if there needs to be some wires running side to side to hold up the front to back wires. No time for that now, but I'm not convinced the crappy foam is the only issue here.

My '94 and '95 seats were great. Wide, thick and comfortable. My '03 seats were terrible, and my '08 seats are terrible too. I think I might try this foam mod soon. I think my right hip bone has a dent in it :D

I did the seat fix with foam on my 06' when I bought it last summer with only 6,000 miles on the truck,

I've still had trouble on long trips with my right leg and figured out it was the seat belt pulling tight on my hip and cutting of the circulation, the belt tensioner just kept constant pressure on my hip area

I bought one of those seat belt clips off ebay which keeps the tensioner from constantly tightening on the right leg

that made all the different, i can go miles and miles now with no problem

today

I just did this mod today as well. Used to med-high density foam and carved it to fit. Worked great. So far with the short distance I've driven its been much more comfortable. All I have left now is the front up/down motor. If I can fix that, it will be on to the next project.

When I got my '07 I would get dusty at work as a carpenter. Seat covers were

required. I killed two birds with one stone by getting a memory foam seat cushion.

The seat still looks like new and it's been great on month long road trips. The

elastic tie downs are a bit wimpy, but it sure beats tearing the upholstery apart. I

got mine at FootSmart for $50, but there probably are other good ones on the market.
After reading through this thread and only seeing complaints on the 06, is this the only MY to have a problem?

'05 is no better.

In the past I had seen posters mention a guy that re-worked factory seats somewhere near Dave Smith Motors. (Kellog, ID).

Apparently he was doing a really good business making Dodge seats *great*!

Anybody know if he is still there?
