'06 Smarty Rattle Issue?

I don't know if I should worry, BUT yesterday, I updated my Smarty to the latest program version on Marco's site. I loaded level 1 like I've had in it for a few months prior, fired it up, and man, the RATTLE, it was LOUD at idle!! I thought it was a cold thing so I drove it around and no change. Loaded stock in and all was quiet. So, out of curiousity, I loaded level 2, which has stock timing. Problem gone! Did Marco change something in the new programs? Is my Rokktech modified sensor now making the timing too advanced making it knock? I mean, it knocked under light load on 1, but when I dropped the hammer, it flat out moved and was silent. The knock is something I DO NOT need when I tow my 3 ton trailer next month. Suggestions? All I tried so far was stock, 1, and 2. Stock and 2 were quiet, yet to try the higher levels. L2 gave a decent smoke show, lol!

The reason you did not hear the rattle on #2 is because the EVEN number programs do not have timing in them, so you may use them to stack with another box (like a TST) that DOES timing... So you were not running increased timing from SMARTY on top of the Rokktech timing increase...



The Rokktech may be aggravating the rattle, and the cold weather snap does not help either. Try backing the Rokktech into the stock position and see what it is like...



Also - you may want to try the Aftermarket Injector program while keeping the Rokktech in full advance position... reason being (from what I understand) that Marco has backed off a little of the timing in that program due to the fact that the aftermarket injectors flow fuel faster, thus actually causing a slight increase in the timing of the injection event(s). The Aftermarket Injector tune coupled with the Rokktech in full advance position may be just what your truck needs!



The EVEN numbered programs may get a little hot when towing (due to no timing increase) and/or when the ambient temperature rises back into summer ranges.

Ok, went to Marco's place, and I see 2 different programs for the '06. 1 says for 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006. The other says 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. Which one should I use?
