Just curious. Is the Smarty essentially your only engine mod? I see lots of posts about problems that seem to me to be the result of stacking 2 or 3 or maybe even more electronic devices, each adding their own programming and then ending up with timing so far advanced the engine doesn't have a chance. I'd like to hear from someone with an otherwise essentially stock set-up about how they like their Smarty.

TAbbott - I will shoot you a PM about my SMARTY knowledge. Of course I would _never_ put SMARTY on my own truck until warranty was up :-laf :p ...

Why not share with everyone?

Courtesy of Bob4x4 I am now playing with the 06 Smarty Beta.

We loaded her up today on #1, 30hp w/ timing and she runs like a bat out of, well you know! She comes on fast and strong so past comments on throttle response are spot on. No difficulty what so ever adjusting to clutch operation but first impression is wind her up bit more prior to shifting. Perhaps that is the learning curve others have commented about, dunno, but at this setting adjusting is a snap for any speed junkie. Toss in Sage Carli's stuff and I fell like I'm all of a sudden driving a sports car... . yeah!

60hp in a few days and if I'm feeling wreckless maybe even 90 before this gem has to go back to Bob... . that's if he's got a crow bar to pry it from my hands Oo.

:{ oh sure... just rub it in a little. :D

I see you run stock turbo and clutch too. Let us know how that 90hp setting works out for you... if everything stays in one piece.

Are you running the stock pump and do you have a FP gauge?

the 06 smarty will be headed up to my buddy's place after getting beat up in Socal :-laf

Reb B will put it to good testing up north :D

Right Richard :)

How close are we to the release of the '06 Smarty? I'm dying to remove my FlashPaq in favor of the Smarty and see how it stacks with my PowerPDA.

Also, could you confirm that the '06 Smarty will be able to calibrate the speedo for larger tires?

Thanks!

DoubleJ; other than suspension goodies I am bone stock, no gauges yet, so I'll likely not get that 90hp wreckless feeling. Not sure what I'd do with it quite frankly, other than break something

No but I'll bet you will still be grinning if you run 9 a bit when we make it to glamis :-laf

Bob

Fat chance dude... . went to setting 3/60hp this morning and talk about a fast mover, holy cow!! The only downside will be having to give this jewel of a downloader back to you in a couple of days :(

Anyway, I've not yet had any difficulty adjusting to going thru the gears, nor is the throttle overly sensitive as some have noted. Dunno if it's me or if Marco has taken care of that thru software changes but she she throttles up smooth as can be but wayyyyy quicker

Gotta gotta have one in October.....

Chris

FYI.

That beta Smarty has SW version # 2 loaded, the one with the "mild" TM.

Same stuff as the 03-05's...

Glad you like it! :D

Oh I certainly do Marco. Driveability is perfect for a work/play/daily driver/off road truck, very smooth and very quick. Me thinks that with the exception of seriously addicted speed junkies this version will more than satisfy just about everyone.

Chris

WHAT???

I musta have a serious disease then! I like version 3 better... . :-laf :-laf :D

OK I'll pay a visit to my doctor and talk with him. :-{}

Maybe there's a cure for me? Who knows... . Oo.

Marco

Marco,

Once you finalize the Smarty for 2006 will it be a separate programmer from the 03-05's? Or will you pack 03-06 all in one unit? It'd be nice if it were universal like the 2G Smarty.

Im still waiting for a Motorhome version... ... ... So why not be the quickest MH up the Cajon Pass :-laf

Hey, an ISB is an ISB, isn't it?
