Question: Does the 06 Smarty use the same software as the 03-5. 5? e. g. can I download all of the pc software from the 03-5. 5 link as well as try the different catcher softwares for the 03-5. 5? or will there be a new 06+ link with specific software / catchers at some point in the future?



Since i've never even driven a diesel with a power enhancer, I was figuring starting on the Stock TQM whold still be impresive to me and I would increase from there!

Came in the mail today (at 5:30... making me sweat it)... . wife still cant wrap her brain around why i would spend $700 for a "box"...



Just tried 30hp with timming (level 1)... . pretty nice, significant decrease in turbo lag, a little smoke, makes exhaust sound better... very good drivability... . transmission didnt seem to hunt while babying the throttle... . just what I was looking for... . going to load 60hp + timming right now and give it a try... . and for the record it's not going above that level until the transmission gets upgraded..... ... just need to do that tommorrow!



Also, seems to idle a little better (timming increase???)



Bob / Marco... if you see this:

- Can I use the same PC software (drivers,... ) that is on the website for the 03+ trucks?

- Can I use the smarty files (no tqm, moderate tqm, mild tqm) that is on the website for the 03+ trucks?



Or is there going to be a new section??

Ran the 60hp w timming (level 3)... based upon my 1 hour drive... it's just about perfect for what i wanted (e. g. not spending another 8k on the truck)... based upon my limited usage so far, no negatives as of yet, all positives... . anyone with a built transmission (and tst for top end) must love this thing on level 9... level 3 adds lots of meat to the lower - mid powerband... . top end is about the same; I wasnt flogging it as I dont want to smoke my stock transmission, but egt's were less than 1150, boost appeared to be around the same level as stock, maybe a little higher... . definately worth the $685

I'll have to program it in the parking lot. Think I'll start on level 3 given everything else is stock.



With an 06 48RE, where are the weaknesses? Will a converter and VB be good for 90HP and towing? The difference between my transmission and my son's stock '01 47RE is night and day.

I programmed mine also in the Post office parking lot...



As far as what level..... Paperwork says that its good to run on SW3 with the stock 48re auto... .



And for a stock manual truck you are safe up to SW5 i believe 90hp with added timing. . Oo.

We just put one on my buddies '06 Mega Dually 4wd, stacked with a smarty on level 3x2.



We started with the tst on 0 and smarty on lvl9, impressive, but then we cranked up the tst to 3x2.



The only mods to this truck are AFE stg2, and straight pipe, otherwise stock. Sorry, no gauges,, those are going on tuesday.



From a dead stop, and WOT, the truck pulls hard and is rolling smoke for about 5', then it spins all four rear tires for about 15', and it's 65MPH before you can even take it all in...



Makes my twin turbo 6-speed feel,, slowwwww.LOL.



It slips the transmission bad. The truck was holding 2,900RPM from 65MPH to 85MPH.



Soon, trans upgrades and a fuel pump...

Any comments from you guys running the smarty on an 06 auto? What levels can you run on a stock transmission? Any improvement in MPG?

well on my g56 equiped truck i could only manage about 15 mpg. now im getting 18 to 20mpg on the highway and street on smarty level 5 with timing, unless my foot goes to the floor. you should expect to see a little more than me cause of the gearing differences between the automatic and manual.
