confused at what to order on mega -cab 4x4 srw. 373 or 410 will be towing 5er about 13500 loaded. towing would be 3 months off and on for the year. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance

At 13,500 (weights tend to grow too as you load up) you will be happier with the 4:10 with the auto. I believe the 4:10 is not available with the stick transmission but it ends up with about the same final ratio as the 4:10 because the OD ratio is not the same as the auto.

The only way you'll get a choice is if you buy an automatic.

This is a heated debate here on the TDR. All I can say is don't listen to the B9 (12V) guys when trying to decide on wether or not to use 4:10's with an auto, in my opinion it is a must, especially if your going to be hauling the weight your planning on.

The ISB (24V) sweet spot is much different than the B9 for towing. It is in the 1900 to 2200 range and even though the torque falls off it will continue to build horsepower all the way into the 2900 RPM range.

No flame suits required.

4. 10's if it's an auto, 3. 73's if it's a 6-speed.

I totally agree. The 4. 10s were too much with my 6spd truck for the weight(7k) I pull, but I wish I had them with the auto I have now.

Not very many rigs can pull me on the hills... the 4. 10s are sweet with the auto and a heavy trailer and not that big a deal the rest of the time...
