Got an 06 that I put two different controllers on and this same problem happened. When I step on the brake, the trailer brakes and lights come on normally but when I let off, the lights and the trailer brakes stay on for a couple seconds longer. I can hear a relay of some sort under the dash snap and the lights/brakes immediately go off. Any ideas?

I don't know if the controllers I have are time based or not, one is a POD (made by tekonsha) and a Tekonsha Voyager. Haven't spent a lot of time on it, just wondering if it is a common issue on an 06.

Tekonsha voyager on my 06,trailer brakes release as soon as i let off pedal. This controller is not time based. Are you plugged in to your trailer when this is happening? When unplugged you should have no lights on the brake control.

I hooked up 3 prodigys today, and on one i messed up and put the red wire onto the wrong brake pedal wire. Are you 100% sure all the wires are correct? White = ground, red=brake pedal(under dash),blue=trailer brakes, black = hot.

I had to run yesterday,so i will give you some more info,There should be no clicking and no relay,(hooked up wrong)hook that wire to the brake pedal switch... there are two wires, get a pin light and test them both and the one you want is the one that turns the light on when the brake pedal is pressed. Its for sure a wiring issue. As long as you stay in your degree limit, some are different and some you have to face the arrow down on the left side. (Like the cheaper teks) :D

Checked out the truck and it seems that my brake pedal wasn't returning like it should or my brake switch/bracketing wasn't adjusted well. I bent the bracket somewhat and I'll try it out. The brake switch must be a dual gang for the lights/trailer brakes.
