Think My Cp-3 Is Getting Tired

My 06 had a really bad chattering sound comming from the motor when I would get on it or especially when I was pulling a load. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a fuel issue and I needed to add more injector cleaner and drive it harder... well none of this worked so I took it back and they ran some tests on the injectors and they were dumping too much fuel in. They ended up replacing all six injectors under warrenty and now my truck runs like a top again!! No more pinging... but now it won't smoke like a banshee anymore!!:{

Good news is, you won't be ruining the cylinder walls and pistons by washing them with excess fuel. . ! Now that you have strong injectors - you can get a box and do it right. :-laf

Did they say what was wrong with the injectors? Were they cracked?

I know there are a lot of us that are having similar ping's and noises that we didn't use to have.

They told me that the return flow was way out of spec. I figured that they would have changed one or two that were messed up... but they went ahead and did all of them.

That is awesome of your dealership to do that. Maybe this "find" will help others. I have the same situation (the noise) and I will ask my dealer to take a look at this. Thanks for posting!!

Well, well, just as we all suspected. Bosch did it to us again, and DCX says oh "don't worry about it, it's normal" or my personal favorite "they all do that, you just hear it now that the gen 3's are so much quieter than the old design"

Don't tell me what I am hearing is normal, I've been rebuilding engines and servicing my own vehicles for about 50 years now. I think I have a good idea of what is a normal sound.

As far as I'm concerned, DCX has shafted us. They should step up this issue and provide a no hassle fix that is covered under warranty.

I'm no lawyer, but I would be interested in supporting any action that would get DCX and Bosch to do the right thing.

What do you guys think can be done to resolve this issue once and for all of us for all those affected??

Thanks, Chuck

I don't know if anyone has "collected" any information and formally presented to the right people, but I would think that would have some weight. Maybe it's been tried before on other issues to no avail (i. e. death wobble, fuel tank vents, etc... ). ?????????:confused:
