What's the problem with a tight converter?

The ECM expects to see a rather large rpm drop when the t/c locks,with a tight convertor that doesn't happen.

Wow. I guess it's sensitive.



My father's '97 gasser threw a TC code once when it failed to lock. I guess they must want to prevent cooking the trans oil.



I wonder if that's something the Smarty will cure?
