My brothers 07 stumbels(or jerks repeatedly)on cruise. Just touching the go-pedal slightly and all is normall. Doesn't do this all the time, mainly at the bottom of a hill as it starts up the next hill. He tried changing fuel filters. He thought that helped, but now doing it again. If he drives it without cruise all is normall. Any ideas anyone?

I have the same problem with my 07. Any advice or suggestions or recalls or whatever would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about these '07's, but you used to be able to reset the cruise control by engaging it, turning it off and doing this cycle about 5 times if memory serves. I just looked at the service manual for the '06 and it doesn't mention this procedure. As a matter of fact, this seems like a sealed system and there are no adjustments that I can see and it appears to be all-electronic. The Gas engines have vacuum pumps and cables that could be out of adjustment, but not on the diesel trucks. I'd take it back to the dealer.

Is yours a Laramie? I was wondering if this has something to do with it. I drive a 07 SLT 5. 9 4x4 6-spd megacab, It has never done it.

06 does it

Hey,

My O6 does this on the downhill, you can feel a jerking in the pants, like it is letting off the throttle about every 5 seconds abruptly. I can't say I'm happy with the cruise control all around, kind of screwy with shifting too, likes to redline the motor even when empty. Let me know if someone figures this out its annoying.

I tried some little trick to see if I could cure it. Drove the truck @ max throttle and top speed, about 101 mph, for 15 miles straight :D Funny thing is it hasn't done it since and that was 300 miles ago.

The test had actually had nothing to do with the cruise surge but I did notice that hasn't done it since so?????

Oh and by the way, my truck sure sucks the fuel when you drive it that hard for that long!! in fifteen miles I used over an eighth of a tank of fuel!!!!

Couldn't get the exhaust temps any higher than 1300 degrees the whole time.

Drive it like you stole it!!!

My truck is 10/06 and it had a PCM flash done when it went into dealers stock. Not sure what the flash was. I can't find any TSB or recall info. Maybe it was a cruise issue flash? Still no issues with cruise @ 1100 miles.
