'09 Brakes retrofit?

I hadn't caught this before roaming around the boards but according to this video the '09 2500s and 3500s got significantly larger rotors this year along with thicker pads and less drag. I wonder if these brakes could be swapped over to older 3rd Gens?

I'm very happy with my brakes compared to my '02 I had. I haven't even touched my brakes yet although I know it's time for a fluid flush.

Looks like they have completely re-designed the suspension, front and rear and the wheels are 20". Bet nothing will interchange. bg

I hadn't heard about 20" wheels, I thought just the 1/2 Ton has 20s? I know Ford has offered a 20" wheel on the SuperDuty for the past 2-3 years.
Anyway I started this post talking about the brakes on the current model Ram 2500 & 3500. . . it would be interesting to test drive an '09 to see how good the brakes are.

Hey Vaughn!

Good point you bring up. I would be in the market for an upgrade for sure when the factory stuff needs replacing.

The brakes are remarkably good... until you're running 37" tires, and grossing 20,000#!

I would be willing to spend a little to upgrade the safety margin for sure...

I've thought it would be a sweet upgrade to put 3G brakes on a 2nd Gen but I think there's too many suspension differences which would rule out making it an easy swap (mainly that you're talking AAM vs Dana axles).
