Ingersoll Rand!

IR2135Ti AND PLUS YOU CAN USE THIS GUN ALL DAY LONG AND NOT GET TIRED OF HOLDING THEY ARE VERY, VERY LIGHT WEIGHT!

Ya buddy. Love mine. Probably weighs near half of what my IR 231 does. LOTS more power than the 231. Almost as strong as the CP 3/4" impact that my boss has. Have to really watch it. It REALLY loves to break bolts. :-laf :-laf My other one doesn't, unless it is a small bolt. The 2135Ti will twist off a 1/2" bolt like nothing. Broke one again today. :D

Have 160 PSI going into it. Oo.

Uhmmm, Bryan, you really need to stop using them dang John Deere Bolts... . when I started for Cat the amount of broken bolts, and stripped threads decreased dramatically then what I had at Deere. ;) Gotta love working on Cats when they uses grade 8 3/8" bolts to hold the hood on :D

I have noticed that when working on AgChem equipment that the stainless hardware is funny to work with, especially when some fertilizer is added instead of locktight. :{

Just ordred the IR2135Ti from maxtools.com for $259. 00 with free shipping, 36-piece impact socket set, and IR knife. :) Thanks again for the advice and I can't wait to use it...

I have an IR unknown model number that I bought when I was a full time mechanic about 18 years ago, and it is still working fine. A bit heavy as there were no such animals as composite or titanium at that point. I have never had to have mine serviced (unlike my snap on model) and have only done routine maintenance (clean oil and lube) and it will zip the lug nuts off my truck without a hint of stress. I run my lug nuts up with my impact and then torque to 130 Ft Lbs with a torque wrench.

I use the IR 3/4 composite (2141) for heavy truck tire work, it is like the nascar pits taking off those lugnuts. It is much faster than my 1' drive and 1/3 the weight.

I also have the IR 1/2 and the IR 3/8 composites... They all rock.

On another note, however...

I was told a long time ago that if you run too much air pressure through the gun, it'll kill it in short order. So I keep mine at about 100 psi at the gun (roughtly 120 psi at the compressor ) I can go up to 150 psi. Is there any harm or not???

my customers at the truck shops have had poor luck with the titanium guns they dont like xtreme service we have had great luck with the xt7100 and it has a 2 year unconditional warranty

That's part of the reason I've yet to get one---well that and I use my tools until they're way past dead & gone, but I digress... .

Even as much as I like my IR composites, my MAC gun is the preferred weapon of choice for the big jobs that require constant hammering for extended periods.

AFAIK the MAC AW434B is a tuned up IR244, which I used to own but had stolen from me at the racetrack... ...

Well as usual, I found this thread just after I ordered an IR 231H from Toolsource.com. It came in today and is Made in China. I thought I was getting a good IR gun, but now I don't know. Will this hold up or should I send it back?

Almost all the IR guns are made in China-- even the 2135TI that's so popular and liked in this thread.

It's no reflection of the quality.

My IR 2131qt says made in Japan. In answer to a previous question. I have now started to replace my IR stuff with Aircat tools. They make air tools for Matco Snapon Mac and Cornwell. I have been very impressed with them.

I have an IR2131 composite that gets used every day, five years old and still kickin. I also have an assortment of older IR`s, 231`s,241`s and a Mac version (forget the number?) they are ALL good in fact the 241 is the one i use at work when the 2131 can`t get the job done (very rare). My preference is the composites, only because, as I get older I find the all metal guns just too dang heavy for my achy old worn out wrists.

Hi Joe,

While I am not a truck or car mechanic, I repair printing presses for a major newspaper. These machines are rather large, a couple of hundred feet long and 4 stories tall. I use a Ingersoll Rand Thunder gun. It has over 600 ft/lbs of torque. Bear in mind that the power is adjustable. It has served me well, no problems to date. Available through Northern Tools. Having been working on presses for a long time I have learned that it makes sense to buy a quality tool rather a cheap one that will leave you stranded at the time you need it most.
