I know that a lot of people have been using this product. Great Southern Insulation Corporation (GSI) has been giving TDR members a 15 percent discount. But JC Whitney had been selling it cheaper. So I talked with Don Barnett of Great Southern Insulation and he agreed to a 35% discount on the 1/2" Sound Stop Foam for TDR members.

The new price after discount is about $3. 20 per square foot which is cheaper than JC Whitney. Be sure to mention the 35% TDR discount on the 1/2" Sound Stop Foam. Their other product's are still 15% off. KL

P. S. I am not associated with Great Southern Insulation in any way, but I have used the 1/2" GSI Sound Stop Foam and I feel it is an excellent product.

Thanks

Thanks KL, I haven't had the time to make that call, I appreciate you doing it for us.

excellent!

super. can you provide a phone number, link, or person to contact there to make ordering most efficient.

how much to order

If I decide to go the foam route instead of liquid, does anyone have any estimates on how much to buy. I imagine there will be some waste due to trimming. I have a Quad Cab and want to cover from as high up the firewall to the top of the back wall and all four doors.

Thanks,

Neil

Neil, I used one piece on the back wall of the cab and had some left over. I have'nt done the doors yet. Hopefully someone who has done the doors will chime in. Klaus

I have so far put the 1/2" SoundStop foam on:

* entire floor

* 2 layers on the rear wall

* both quad cab doors

* both main doors

* both sides on the rear side walls between the quad cab doors and the rear wall

I have used a total of just under 6 1/2 sheets of the foam. If I hadn't done 2 layers on the rear wall, I would likely be at just under 6 full sheets.

So, I would say order 6 sheets to do it all.

As GregL (The Noise Nazi) has done, I am going to use my 2/3 of a remaining sheet to do the oil pan at some point pretty soon.

Oh, I have also gone through about 2 1/2 cans of the spray adhesive. I ordered one can of spray adhesive from GSI, and have used about 1 1/2 additional cans of 3M 77 spray adhesive, as per Greg's recommendation.
