Competition Jennings County, Indiana truck pull...VIDEO...

Competition Different NOS

I seem to remember hearing something like a tenth of a second per 100#'s, is that a "general rule o thumb?

What brings this up is I saw "a guy" ;) run a 12. 62@ 108mph recently on #2 only. And he had front AND rear winch bumpers WITH winches plus a toolbox full o tools in the bed and big mud tires. Curiousity (sp) is driving me nuts :D

That is the general rule of thumb and has been very accurate on the cars I have built. Though once past the 11. 99 mark it seams to be less accurate. After that it takes a bit more power or weight reduction to get the . 010.

12. 6 and a good MPH with an extra 4-5 hundred pounds on the truck makes me think this guy has just a wee bit of power under there.

Where did you see it at?

I can shake off 400# of dead weight and fuel for a race (7050-ish)

But, when I leave the truck stop I"m at 7450-ish...

It sure doesn't feel like it's . 400's slower.

Ok my question kinda has to do with wieght. When I was at our local drive train shop picking up my new clutch the guy there said I should put an aluminum drive shaft on. He said that less rotating mass = a lot more power. Is this true, will it make a differance?
