whats a stock qtr mile time for a 05 335/625 6 spd dually 2x4

how much does a 70 hp chip cut in time and add to mph

i may consider an 05 or 06 2x4 to replace my 93 405/965

but power will be less but more useable

6 spd for towing

no i know all that i want 6 spd for towing only

just want to compare the 1/4 mile times against my 93

the 05 are much better for useable power but no match in total hp

iam at 15 at 92 mph now but was wanting to compare times

for some comparianians only

but the 05 are a lot better in useable 335 or about 290 rear wheel hp

iam sure with a 70 hp chip and 1300 more pounds a 05 with a chip and 2x4

dually ext cab will be in the 16 second range

but not sure

As a newbie, I just find it hilarious to even find discussion of 1/4 mile times on a diesel truck forum. Gutless, underpowered motorcycles are faster. :D :D :D Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well, my friend, the smilies were meant to indicate the levity! :) In other words, no offense was intended. It was just an observation from an admitted newcomer. Cheers. :)

Don't sweat it Rider. It's very hard to "hear" the tone of voice in writing. I will put my truck against your '93 any day. Even if I lost, it would still be fun.

drive, can't say what a new dually will do in the 1/4, but my buddies 03' 3/4 ton 4x'r Quad Cab went 15. 20 @ 92 MPH last summer. He has a Western Diesel RPM II box which is not produced anymore. On the high setting, it is supposed to make 120 Hp. We haven't had a chance to race each other yet, I installed a Quadzilla 100 Hp box on my 03' 1 ton SRW. I will be making a few passes to figure out what she runs with the STD box, then I will be switching over to the Race box(140 hp). Hopefully nI will be in the same range as my buddy's truck. Hope this gives you some idea.

His 3/4 ton truck scales about 6700 lbs, my truck is 6900 lbs, not sure how much more a dually is. Figure a tenth of a second for every 100 pounds. I think it is also a tenth for every 50 to 75 hp but I am a little rusty and please don't hold me to that. :-laf

Mines not a dually but I ran a 17. 7 at about 5500 feet elevation with a 6-speed and launched in 2nd all stock. I believe silverram ran a 17. 4 with just exhaust and air cleaner mods that same night.

You won't be disappointed in the power a 3rd gen makes and you will love the way it drives. :D
