Competition 1/4 mile times

Went to the strip tonight. Best ET was 13. 52 with a 1. 86 60', 1/8 mi 8. 53(79. 6 MPH), and a top speed of 97. 3 MPH. Still having trouble with the 3rd to 4th gear shift, but think I can be a little faster when I straighten that out. Did my 4x4 launch around 8 or 9 psi. A set of twins or bigger turbo to breath more and an output shaft to launch harder should help things a little. What do you guys think?

pretty good for a 7000lb truck. What level did you have the EZ and TST on?

Edge was on 4 and TST on 5/6. Turning TST any higher just made it smoke more but not faster. Needs more air.

Sounds impressive to me. Are you locked in OD thru the traps?

Those 60' times have lots of room for improvement (that's optimism , not pessimism ). You'll improve them if you can launch with more boost (there's where your new output shaft is necessary) as long as you keep traction.

Twins will move you up, of course, but you can still get more with what you have. And no, you're not slow.

What else can I do to be faster with my current set-up? I know launching harder and get my 3rd to 4th shift right, but the only other thing I can think of is to get some more air. When I turned TST higher I smoke more but get slower.

I'm playing with a different toy (12V), but billet output so you can launch with, oh, 20lbs boost (some guys do a lot more). That will help your 60'. A lockup switch (Bill K has chest pains as he reads this ) will help your ET.

If you've got heavy fuel, more air is definately a bonus.
