1/4 mile...what will i run?

Hey all. This sunday im going to the track just to see what my truck can do... . My mods right now are



Edge ez LVL 4

Scotty Ram Air 3

4" exhaust



I am running 315's w/ 4. 10 gear... . I plan on doing 4x4 launch @ 10 psi

Good luck, my guess would be somewhere in the mid to high 16s. Do you have to launch in 4WD? Seems like it would be very hard on the drivetrain. Can't you heat the tires up a little and use 2WD? Do you plan to try to shift out of 4WD after the launch?

Well, I ran my completely stock truck last sept... . It went 16. 632 @ 79. 88mph with a 2. 423 short time. I launched in 2wd @ about 15psi with very little tire spin (could have been allot of rubber down).



I would hope to see your truck run at least a 15. 40 @ 89(mostly because of your tire size). I'm not very familiar with launching in 4wd, it just sounds scary to me, I've heard of allot of people doin' it though.



You should also try the level 5 setting that I've been reading about.

You should run about 15. 6-7. If you leave in 4wd you are gonna stay in 4wd unless you completely let off the gas so the front can unlock. If you do you might turn 21. 0 . You should be able to launch at 20 pds of boost in 4wd.

Is this the truck you said last week has 500 HP?

Nick,

I would be careful about building boost and lauching in 4wd. If you launch at too high of a boost you could break the output shaft. Not trying to worry you, just a word of caution.

No... this is the truck that originally was going to have 500HP... then just a nice lift and tires... last week it was sold to his dad... now he;s racing.

LOL! Yeah what a saga... . Dad backed off on the deal because of my mom (NOW I KNOW WHY YOU ALL SAY BEING MARRIED SUCKS) Well... Its still my truck, the saga will continue... not sure whats gonna happen

Thats what my GOAL for my truck is... . There is nothing there that says my truck has 500 hp... I was just trying to get a feel of what i am going to run when my GOAL is met. .

My truck dynoed at 511hp. Best 1/8 mile was 8. 563 with a 1. 822 60' with TST on 5/5. Going to the 1/4 mile track tonight. I'll let you know what the truck will do.
