Brent, I have spent some good money and did some good upgrades to my truck to where I have no troubles now. My guages look like factory and my fuel system is robust enough and reliable and predicable. In an Engineering standpoint, I think you will be impressed with my upgrades.

This is my fuel setup, I added a 18 gallon Aux tank where the spare was. Tapped it into the Capped fitting on the top of the main tank.

There is a shut off for changing the 30 micron filter by the tank and it goes to a 7# pusher to the main LP then to a regulator which gets returned to the rear filter.

This setup keeps me at 12-14 PSI no matter what.

The pusher has a one-way bypass incase the pusher fails, it can draw around it.

Heres the 30 micron filter by Racor. Also notice the shutoff valve for changing this filter.

And the Regulator after the stock LP but before the filter.

Heres my Gauges. The top is the Pyro, middle, Boost, and the lower is the Fuel pressure. This is a total replace pillar so no patch over case... It looks stock. I found a place to mix the interior code for the plastic to paint the mount..... the Gauges are Auto meter Silver face with green boots for the lights so it is like the instr. cluster

EricBu12, Thanks for the pictures and other info. For some reason, I missed your last post. Do the gauges mounted on the pillar block your view? I have rain guards on my truck and they seem to block my vision when looking to the left. Because of this, I have been reluctant to purchase the pillar mounting equipment. My search for alternative gauge mounts has not gone well. I can't seem to find anything that looks as classy at the pillar configuration.

I change the fuel filter in the following manner:

1) open the water drainage valve at the bottom of the filter housing, connect the drain hose to an empty bottle to pre prevent spillage, use a spare tube to do this.

2) Loosen the top of the filter housing and diesel will drain into the bottle, then remove the top of the housing and the filter. Replace the O ring and change the filter.

3) Close the drainage valve and fill the filter housing with Lucus Diesel fuel suplement, this will also clean the injectors and avoid air in the system, this is clean fuel suplement from the bottle.

4) Replace the top of the housing with the new filter attached, use a socket wrench as advised for removal of the top and reinstillation of the filter housing, torque to 25 ft lb.

5) Remove the drainage hose, disregard the old diesel in the bottle.

6) Bump the starter without starting the engine three times, you can hear the lift pump run.

7)The engine starts without a cough or sputter.

Thanks

Sounds like you need a new lp. It isn't strong enough to suck fuel from the tank. You can pressurize the tank or like you did fill the canister. Mine did the same thing until I put a new one on.

Gauges.
