Hope nobody here has a new Ram enroute from Mexico. We had a Derailment here in San Antonio Yesterday that Totaled 5 railcars of 2005 Rams! They figure each car had about 200,000 dollars worth of Trucks in them.
:--)

That's going to be some really bad news for some people. :( Yes they would make great parts trucks but the problem is where are they going to end up and how do we get ahold of them? Humm...

Bummer

Ray

I can't find any more info other than they were car carriers.

Can you provide info linking them with Dodge trucks?

Our ship date for a 3500 is Thursday, I hope they were not early. We're trying to get a truck before we have to pay another month of moorage on the boat :{

And for those that did have trucks on that train, hopefully they didn't get hurt being on their side for a day.

Just the fact that they were involved in a major derailment... . Makes them scrap by Union Pacific Standards. They will not even let them go to salvage for parts... they will be crushed because of liability issues.

I know they were Dodge trucks... I was there and seen the cargo and the manifest.

I dont know how one gets ahold of them either, but a good friend of mine has a diesel shop and he has two 305 HO motors complete that he got from a bunch of trucks in a train derailment.

To bad I'm not ready to do my conversion yet in my Ford. I sure could use a good motor but no one has dropped off that bag I money I've been waiting for. :-laf

They lost my truck too! Fortunately though it was just sitting in a rail yard in St Louis for over a week. The dealer sheet said it should have been at the dealer & it wasn't. Maybe that it what happened to your truck. Keep your fingers crossed but don't hold your breath.

How do I find out about this? Would a dealer have been notified if a truck they're expecting was involved in this? Mine supposedly left Laredo TX on Friday morning... I have no container number or anything, and I don't know what route it would take to get here. Do I need to ask the dealer for a VIN # in order to find tracking info?

Looks like Fordcummins is getting more motors. If you read their site they got 15 or so from a similar train wreck.
