I need some help

Friday morning I wasted the outer bearing on the right side of my truck when i tryed to remove what was left of the outer bearing i discovered that it had gotten so hot that it melted the spindle and the ID of outer bearing together and rotated forward about 10 deg which make this spindle useless, I have look all over town (southern california) a can not find a replacement spindle, called the dealer they don't have one and the discontinued the 4,000 LB setup check wecking yards no have.

so my question is dose any body know the defferance between the 3,500 and the 4,000 spindle is and wether or not it will fit on my truck and what changes i will need to make.

I have not set up sig block so my is a 1992 3500 DRW I am looking for the rt side

I had the same problem in my 92 when I got it. I figure someone forgot to pack the bearings, or ran it low on oil. It turns out you cant just take a spindle off and replace it- you have to get a whole tube, or have someone cut the old spindle off and weld the new one back on- machine shop type work and acuracy required. I found a Dana80 axle for $500, hub to hub, and jumped on it. There is a place I found out about in a thread I posted, called Axle Surgeons (877-Fix axle, I think) that can do the repair. I found the 80 before I got around to calling them, so I have a D70 axle sitting on my other flatbed for the time.

so this is the front spindle on a 2wd, right? you need the whole chunk of iron from ball joint to ball joint, i wonder how much diffrent ot would be from the 3500# front end. i know the baljoints themselves are diffrent, just try to get a 3500# and see if it fits, there should be a few old ones in the yard around you. kent

Spindle

I just converted my 92 D250 to a dually. The 92 D250 front spindle takes the same bearings, caliper, everything. All I had to do was use the 350 rotor and hub assy. , and it all bolted right up. So you might check local wrecking yards for spindle assy from a 250. Hope this helps.

OOOPPPSSS. Didnt realize you had trashed your front spindle. For some reason, I assumed rear. Nevermind, then.
