I installed my #10 plate this past weekend. The truck seems to pull real strong above 50mph once I'm in overdrive. If I mash the pedal down at 65mph it pulls me back in the seat and the speed picks up real fast.

Should I feel any increase when driving around town, like out of the hole from a dead stop or will the majority be at the freeway speeds?

Thanks

I believe the 11 is made with more of a torque curve than a 10. . I dyno'd 416/898 with my 10 plate, and there was one person there, whom I believe had a 11, but he turned 371hp/1113 tq. If you really want more go power, get some 191's... . WOW difference, but make sure turbo does not go over 40... I let mine get to 49, and KABOOM!!!!! That was all she wrote! Then Piers got a call, and I invested well in his company!

Andy,

I don't know, I haven't checked it.

I did speak with Harry at Piers and he said to try adjusting the star wheel and also slide the plate forward about . 020. He also mentioned that due to the stock torque converter the power would be felt more once it locks up at freeway speed.

This is kind of what someone else had said too. I figure I'll adjust the star wheel and slide the plate forward and see what happens. After that, eventually I will have to break down and do a trani.

The nice thing is that it does pull much stronger when I mash the pedal above 60 mph which tells me that it should help out when I tow my boat up a long steep freeway grade. Of course I will keep an eye on the EGT's during this period.

The number 10 plate is a mild but good increase. You may not see mucho gaino in the "launch. " Your stock converter is pretty loose, so Pier's is right on with the thoughts about lockup (where you are feeling it now).

I've found 12v rams to be particularly lazy if the lift pump or ov. flow valve get weak, promoting less than par fuel pressure.

Usually by the time she revs up, somewhat acceptable pressures are available and it feels good better the top end.

You need to call / email my friend James (972-723-9646 or -- email address removed --). He can build you an auto transmission that you will really like!

His trannys even make me smile, (I'm a hardcore manual trans. guy).

Good luck

Andy,

What should the fuel pressure be and where / how should I measure it?

I was reading a post about fuel knocks and I think I occaisionally get those myself which makes me think that my pressure could be low.

Thanks,

Brad
