Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) # 10 Throttel plate in a 1995 2500 stock

Hey,

I would like to start pulling a 5100LB 21 Ft. Travel Trailer this summer.

I have a TST # 10 Throttle plate.

The instructions seem easy enough for me to do so I was wondering about EGT change,how much boost is to much for a truck with 260,000 miles on it.

I'm talking 50-60 MPH for a 600 mile trip.

First put gauges (egt and boost) on it. A 10 plate will be mild performance wise, unless more fuel is added. Is the truck an auto or manual. trans? With the stock turbo, I'd stay below 32 lbs of boost.

I put a #10 plate in my 96 5 speed truck. I have pulled some loads grossing 17,000 and get along great. On a long hill, egts can hit 1200-1250 degress, but getting out of the throttle a little bit will decrease the temps. I max out around 30 lbs on boost. Just remember, you will have to eventually upgrade your clutch or your auto transmission.

Mine is Auto. Gauges are the first thing I installed: EGT-Trans Temp and Boost.

I wanted to see what was normal for stock then add the plate.

Two ways. Put that 10 plate in stock position. Drive it around and see how you like it. Then you can slide the plate forward by 10 thou increments. This is free power and I would also recommend turning the star wheel towards the motor. This will increase pre-boost fuel.

A set of stock 215 hp injectors is a nice upgrade. I do not know if the stock auto trans will live, especially with towing.
