I have a #10 plate in my truck now and was wondering if a #0 makes a big difference over the 10. Or would a #100 be the way to go?

the difference between the #10 and the #0 plate is huge, the 0 is basically flat, whereas the 10 has a pretty modest cam profile... search for a #0 on the forums and that will help some, im running a #8 and will be switching to a #4 when i beef up the transmission

I would hold off, on the #0 plate idea, for now. My stock transmission couldn't hold the #10 plate alone. It was really unhappy when I threw in the 370s.

Justin, there is no way of really guessing at what power it makes as it really depends on how it's setup and there are a ton of settings to do. You can either make or break a stock transmission with a #10 but it is the plate of choice for a stock auto, now having said all that there are folks that say you can't make big power with a #10, the main thing is it's all in how you set it up and yes real good power can be made. The main thing with a #10 is the smooth transison(sp) on the bottom with a tad of de-fuel on top to control EGT's, in my opinion a 10 should always be with a set of 3K's and a bigger housing or modify the stock setup to get more air out of the motor.

Me and my buddy both have 98 12v's. I have a 0 he has a 10. Last night at the pulls I pulled 6ft farther than he did. But he has a stock clutch I don't. I am not seeing much difference. I can beat him but not by much. Maybe my turbo can't keep up with the 0 plate?

Since I haven't had both plates side by side to compare, I wonder how deepest part of the profile on the #10, is to the flat profile of the #0. I suspect not to much. Could be wrong, but not sure.

The zero should be cut about 2-3 mm deeper than the 10 but unless you do some pump tricks the rack will bottom out before the 10 will... ... FYI!

Howdy Chris,

I saw you leaving work about two months ago or so. Haven't found anybody yet. I still want to get the timing set, but money is short at the moment. So, still looking.
