I was at my dads shop recently and he had two CTD's in for four wheel drive repair. One had 6xx,000 and the other had 980,000!!! The amazing thing to me was. Dad said he had put two transmissions in the one with 980,000 and has put one in the 6xx,000. Worked on the four wheel drive part on each but has never touched the motor on either. Motor has never been worked on in either truck, just the drive lines. Talked to the driver of the 980,000 mile one. Uses Rotella, changes every 6,000 miles. He is some sort of farm inspector for Co-op. Drives all day. I was just amazed. That was the selling point for me to by one! The were both first gen 12 valvers.



It is still hard to fathom...
