100 degree drop in EGT with a new manifold????

This month's Diesel Power has an article (page 122) on the installation of the 3 Piece ATS Manifold - which I think is great - what amased me was that they found a drop of about 100 degrees in EGT - I didn't realize that was possible... ... also the performance seemed better - I have my own thoughts - what appears to be yours..... actual experience would be beneficial - not wanting to spend $600 for something that I'm notsure of... ... . and my manifold is not cracked at this point.....

I have the 2 piece ATS manifold and I found the results were similar to what you posted. I didn't notice the performance really until I got into higher altitudes here. Above 4000 feet or so it made a noticeable improvement. That's my experience for what it's worth.



On edit: Yes the EGT reduction was there also.

Saw a 50* drop in EGTs with mine. Turbo spoolup was a tad better, and the engine seemed more responsive.
