OK, I need all of your creativity on this one. We get A LOT of positive feedback about these easy to participate in contests. But, my brain is fried (no news there). I'm running out of easy ideas.



So post your best ideas for contests. Winner gets $100.



Ideas need to be reasonably easy. Why? We want as many TDR Members to participate as possible.



Ideas need to be reasonably clean. Why? Don't even go there (snicker).

Best looking truck contest

Here's an idea, You can have the best looking truck contest by year meaning by First generation, second generation and third generation , You can have categories like First, 2nd ,3rd generation OEM only, Another category class Would be Semi OEM And then full blown Bombed Category .

Have everybody post their pictures by category For maybe a few months and then close it down , Then have everybody vote for their choice, Like you did with a T-shirt contest. ,Everybody likes showing off their truck!! Just thinking out loud :-laf

I promise I won't enter my truck :-laf:-laf

Not to rein on your parade But diesels aren't green by no means

The only green diesel that I know of is The 09 Volkswagen Jetta TDI which got green car of the year, Which is amazing for being a diesel.

Just my thoughts on this topic .

Maybe the "GREEN" topic needs it's owne thread, but that's a viable story about the Volkswagon TDI. My story is about a Dodge 4X4 extended with a 318 that got 8 MPG with my 20' box trailer empty, then I bought my Diesel and get 15MPG with 10,000 lbs in that trailer... . that's alot of fuel saved, I feel better about my contributions to the environment already!!!! LOL

Best humanitarian event using your truck. Like in one day on a snowy February in Pennsylvania, I stopped on a hill and picked a woman and her infant out of their explorer from the side of a hill when the SUV was stuck on a tree... once they were warm in the truck I pulled their SUV up the hill and onto the road safely and got them back on their way, not 7 miles down the road someone stopped on the mountain and a 30' box truck had to stop and started sliding backwards off the side of the mountain, I hooked up to him too!! And it was enough to get stop him from sliding off and to get him going up the hill again... . I got him to the top and he offered me free powder coating!!

Maybe the best "working truck shot". You know loaded down with tools or heavy duty trailer and hay or equipment. That way they live up to the old saying about being Work or job tough.

How about your most creative on the road fixes. They could could be scored on both creativity and difficulty of repair. The fixes need not have been done to a CTD. The knowledge learned from these could help fellow members when they are on the road away from home. Plus you will get to hear about my repairs one of which utilized my boot laces and a stick... .

How about the first one two find a 2 speed rear end that will bolt right in to one of these pickups, or find a transfer case that has a 2 high and 2 low option to be able to run 2 seperate gear ratios. Lower r's better economy!
