Old RED DOG

I sure would have paid more attention to rust. My 91 is/was a better workhorse than my newer 01. Rust has sidelined my 91, still runs great but cab is no longer attached to rest of truck. Hit a bad bump, and I think it would flip over forwards. Plowing with the 01, I get 10 mpg, the old truck got at least18 while working its heart out. More comfort, more power but a tuff price to pay for all that. :mad::mad:

When I ordered my 02 I wish I would have ordered the 3. 54 gears instead of the 4. 10's. My fuel mileage isn't the greatest.

When I bought my 95 I wish I would have bought stock in Cummins.

Jeff

I wished that I had added an engine brake when I bought my '05 3500 Diesel Dodge Truck. Would have save a set of front brake pads I chewed up coming down long grades with 12000# RV behind it.

Rich Thompson

'05 3500 long bed w/engine brake and small chip to boost fuel pressure. This gives 710 ft lbs of torque and great engine response

If I had known then,

I would have -

Bought a 4x4 and been able to stay ahead of my trailer in the mud;

Waited for the 2nd Gen Club Cab;

Kept my trailer hitch on all the time;

Told my son to leave take his own car to town and leave the 22 fence posts in the ground!!!

The rest isn't suitable!!!Oo.

“If I knew then, what I know now . . . . ”

I would have hidden a shop full of drop top Hemi E-Bodies and never driven them.

OR

I would have pursued a career in electronics instead of trucking.

I would have "Bombed" my truck much earlier rather than waiting for warranty intervals to expire. Was more like work hauling my 5th wheel RV all over the Eastern U. S. with lacking horsepower. Now it actually is fun having the right power upgrades when tackling both uphill and downhill grades and not hanging in the right hand truck lane. Oo.

Should of listened to the sales manager "sure you don't want a diesel", bought a new 99 dodge gasser instead. Could of had an easy 20mpg... .....

If I Knew Then, What I Know Now ?

IF I KNEW WAY BACK WHEN HOW GOOD MY 24 VALVE WAS GOING TO BE, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE ALLOT SOONER INSTEAD OF BUYING ALL THOSE POWERLESS FORDS AND CHEVYS I HAVE OWNED IN THE PAST. ALSO I WOULD HAVE TRIED A DIESEL INSTEAD OF A GASSER WHEN MUDBOGGING. Oo. Oo. Oo.

If I knew then what I know now!!!!!

I would have taken the truck back to Northland and told them they could keep their truck!!!!!!Shouldn't have paid cash for the truck! Came with 3 factory problems. The steering osocillated between 10 oclock and 2 oclock. Cost to me over $5000. 00 to fix. No warranty!!!

The engine gutless since new! Loaded welding trucks could easly beat me out of an intersection. #@$%! It has been burning coolant since new at 22,000 km's rad was low! There are only so many parts and labour one can pay for on $23,000 dollars a year income! Ran with no lift pump for about 8 months before was fixed. 175 rwhp Engine bucking from 1100 to 1275 rpm! (40 visits to get this fixed till now). 53 block cracked Nov 06 so with the high mileage that I drive and easy on the engine cracked out of the extended cumzin warranty. So now just get cases of coolant.

Burning coolant since new ( 22,000 km's) Even with me buying dye for the rad system no external leaks . I find all of this very unforgiveable! Had it been taken care of in warranty would have been acceptiable. Have taken it to 8 dollarshops and cumzin 3 times! To date I HAVE NEVER ENJOYED ONE DAY OF THIS TRUCK !!!

THIS TRUCK SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEMON LAWED!!!!!

You know I alwasy thought till later on that the dollarshop WOULD WANT to fix it but they didn't. Cumzin was no better! I should have trusted myself much more to force my knowledge on the re& re boys that tried to tell me there is nothing wrong with your truck! The next truck I will. Then I will apolize when I am incorrect. This has cost me way over $20,000 to try to fix the FACTORY PROBLEMS! To date I have run 51 diesel engines and they are a thousand times better then mine is! The one that I run now with 410 G on it will do 16 gear up a 10 % grade and accelerate! That is diesel power!

I have all bills if someone thinks that I am blowing smoke. Or is an electronics enginner. Who can read the signals that I have copied out .

Now that I am in better financial position I can replace this ( Cryslurr cumizn JUNK)

Have been studing the Fords and Gm's but don't love the ideal of a V8 diesel and their problems. Would like to find a I-6 for a new truck. :D This will take me into the $90,000 truck range? Still figuring ???

Take Care all.

I would not have wasted tons o' money on hopping up gassers before i tried bombing a diesel !!! :eek:

CTD's are the best performace vehicles ever !!! Oo.

I often joke with my non-diesel friends that I'll tow their cars to the track -- race 'em and beat 'em -- then tow 'em back home when they break trying to beat me !!!! :-laf

... . I probabably would have made all of the same mistakes, spent just as much money, gone through just as many injection pumps, just as many clutches, and just as many tires ... ... ... just Sooner!!!
