1000 foot burn out

Went to the drags today with Massdiesel and the gang. I got a little to heavy footed on the first run. Seems like I burned rubber for the first 1ooo ft. This information was relayed by Massdiesel with no lack of glee on his part. I think he was just jealous because he didn't race and left his " Hanger Oueen" sitting in the grass. Any way I ended up with a days best run of 88. 76 @ 16. 033 I think I could have gone 15. 9++ with a little more work on my reaction time. I know with transmission upgrades I can run 90mph +. There were a couple of guys makeing 14 sec. runs. What a Blast!!!!

Your R/T has nuthing to do with your ET. Your 60ft time however will play a part in it. I only ran a 15. 9 ET but it was at 93mph and my 60ft time was 2. 88.

KD, my 60 ft # was 2. 434.

Thanks Fred I've fixed my #'s to match. You NEED a box like mine so that truck of your's will run as good as it looks. With a box some DD11's and a transmission up grade you will be turning 14's at 100+!!!

jes , dd2's and a comp sould get you into the 14's , your truck is lighter than mine , but 100mph may be a bit much , maybe some supermentals will get you to that mph.

I heard over the PA about the Dodge doing a burnout down the 1/4 to at least the 1000 ft mark, wish I was looking in the pits at the time.

If Fred gets a box like yours, maybe then I can borrow his, for about 3 years

That 1000 foot burnout was great! I know Massdiesel and myself were wondering when JES was going to let up a bit and hook up..... it never happened. The smoke just kept gettin' thicker. Too bad there wasn't a dash-mounted camera to catch the big grin. Oh well, the BFG's will just be coming a little sooner?

Jes,I didnt see any tranyy mods in your signature? if your running at the track with the stock transmission,your on thin,thin ice. I'd be happy to see my truck in the 14's,it sure feels strong,I have the DD3's,comp,and DTT,upgrades. If your transmission is stock,i bet you'd drop 2-3 tenths alone with a convertor/Vb from DTT.

Truth be told I was just hanging on thru that first run. I was totaly uprepaired for the truck to fail to hook up before it hit OD. I've owned several hot gas mobiles and they all hooked up in the first couple hundred feet or so. You know there arn't many gas rigs that put 300+ hp on the ground at the rear wheel. Only a lucky few get to be Cummin and going at the same time!

If ya wanna get technical it was 93. 36 mph I was happy with the speed. I have to go back still and work on it a bit. My transmission still needs some dialing in.....



Whats your elevation by the way? I am hoping the AirBullDog Hood will add a bit to it. Or at least get my temps down. What turbo you run currently? I really would like the highend of an HX40 with the low end of the Piers Turbo. I got a few things to try to lower temps... ... we'll see what happens.



Waiting for DD to release a thing or two as well.

I just wish someone thats got the "experience" on the DTT stuff would come in this direction. I'm concerned my transmission is not set up properly... ... . and the shop that did it don't seem all that eager to adjust it.

KD, you need to find a way to have Massdiesel look at your transmission. I watched him build his one saterday. That boy is way smarter than he looks and has a hot hand with those DD trannys. I hope to have him do mine. You gotta give John a lot of the credit though. If he didin't answer the phone it would take Scotty two or three days instead of just one.
