bluthndr said:Props to all you guys - especially Maddog, Jim and Joe. You guys rock! I hope to get to that level of understanding with my truck... Experience and effort is everthing!
Just cuz I'm curious, what kind of RPMs is the 700 plus crowd turning?
Stock shortblock Jim? That's just BAAAD!

Kinda like trying to stop a train by throwing a penny on the track :-laf
Jim Fulmer said:Hum, I ran a 12. 65@114 a year and a half ago on stock tires weighing in at 6300 lbs and at about 650 HP... ... ... 11's would be too easy!

3. 55 gears
ATS transmission with Precision Industries torque converter. Didn't run the 10. 59 with that setup. Broke the ATS trans once, hasn't run it hard or dynoed since.
I don't know jack about Cummins but Edge controlling the 12v![]()
Jim Fulmer said:Jim i bet that's one hell of a ride. Your truck looks like a "sleeper". Take that bad boy to the strip and people would say that thing can barely get out of its own way... ... Then lay down a 12 to 13 in the 1/4.

Get a life Nick.
NGerard said:But anyhow, to make this technical, did you have forged pistons put in your engine? I thought even in the Cummins you where supposed to keep EGTs down with forged pistons???
I-6DZL said:Jim do you really think 11's would be too easy ?? Being that you only have 2wd don't you think traction would become an issue ?? I think you would break the tires loose on shifts if you tried to run tooo hard.
But i'm by far an expert. You've pretty much proven that you can do what you want to do with a diesel.
Good luck bro

The D - max put out a corrected (19%) 790 hp. The first and only corrected run of the day. So uncorrected it would had been 664 hp. I remember the chart saying it had water meth/NOS/propane. I don't know if it also runs twins. Not that it's a slouch by any means. It's got my truck whooped!
I remember MADDOG running and I saw on the projector screen his numbers hit about 850 hp when the turbo elbow broke at (only) 98 lbs of boost. I know he was running NOS that day but I don't know if he got to use it.
The next day at Truck Fest MADDOG ran a 11. 03 @ 126 running 120 lbs of boost. So flywheel hp that would take about what... . 1150 hp? I never did hear what the d-max ran that day.
