Competition What is a good pulling tire?

Your very welcome im glad you got to talk with me, and yes, Im willing to bet that RC has blown up some turbos in the race for how much Horsepower he can get, And just because your buddy down street has a high horsepower truck doesnt mean you automatically have an abundant wealth of knowledge of the common rails. Hell it takes diesel and the injectors are electronically fired and theres alot more gizmos did you know that, Oh and hey guess what the same turbos that he dynos with are the same turbos he races with and goes to the grocery store with.

MADDOG 200,103. 4 if you can show me on a dyno sheet 1,100 plus horsepower with the temps that RC's truck has and have the driveability that it has I will shut up and eat crow... ... ... . Much Love from the Lone Star State:D

RC, I have believed everything that you and chris have done since day one, You guys have been blowing people away that some wont even believe your accomplishments with proof, chris's inovations and both of your determination have helped tremendosly with doing what we love.

Richard, you have been a true pioneer in our sport, you have pushed the envolope and paid your dues, and it truely shows.

Its people and thigs like this that make the compitition at the level where it is today and we all know that the 12v and the CR are two diffrent animals with totally diffrent manners and ways of making high HP, I believe that the CR has better street manners and is less envolved to making big to huge power than a 12v, as for the EGT argument at the level PDI, Richard, and RC are at thats the least of your worries I would assume, its kind of like worring about fuel mileage at 1000+HP who cares!

i think the best comparison is the literal similarities between the p-pump vs. CR trucks and the carb vs. injection wars of the past. Yes p-pumps can make gobs of power ,but the technical evolution of the motor has allowed this power to be made AND driven daily/dependably. Great work, I look forward to the future of diesel and we'll see what VG turbos the bombbugs will come up with !! maybe twin injector heads ?!!

I know exactly what my truck does on fuel alone and what turbos work the best for my set up. My problem is all these #2 only guys claiming numbers with water. Water is a power adder,if it isnt take it off and see what you get. Maddog, I have the utmost respect for your truck and the work youve put into it and I know your power is really #2 only. Saying that I beleive horsepower is horsepower, doesnt matter how you make, just make it. My questioning the spooling of the big turbos was not about the fueling, its about rpm. A high per. 12 valve can turn massive rpm what does a common rail turn? My turns 3350 rpm's,it will flash higher but its in the programming to start defueling at 3350. My initial post was not against pdi it was directed towards the uneducated that think some of us commonrails can only make power with a bottle. I tuned my truck to work with the bottle because I think its better for the truck to not make 70-80lbs. of boost and 1600 degree egt's. I make my power at 55lbs of boost and egt's stay below 1300. So if my post seemed like I was attacking someone that was not my intention,so congrats on the numbers and good luck.

Some people say that Water/Meth adds hp. Some have said they loose hp with W/M. I have seen a few guys that are running 3 stages of water in 900+ hp trucks get 100hp from it. FAR cry from 500hp extra with nitrous on a 700hp diesel only truck. Fact of the matter is Jared is making over 1000hp on diesel and maybe a small amount from water. He has dynoed 1060hp and then on a different day dynoed 1078hp. He has not claimed his high numbers. He has also dynoed very high with nitrous also but I am not up on those numbers as he does not talk as much about it. He is sled pulling in the unlimited class and has done very well for a beginner in that class with a 3rd gen. His truck is not a daily driver. I have seen the truck spool those turbos and it was VERY impressive. But everyone to their own.
