"Now in saying that I don't put all Dodge or Cummins owners in one group, but you guys are definatly the most brand loyal. " Original Quote by jdecampo

When you have the best why try the rest?

Using your logic, why is there any topics about a GM on this site at all? Please answer that.

I see Dodge and Chevy comments on the Ford site, and I also see Ford and Dodge comments on the Chevy site. What's your point?

Take the time to read all 3 sites and if the blinders are removed you will see which site has the majority of the cry babys who would drive anything but another brand.

Actually I do read the Ford site and the Chevy site on occasion and IMHO there are quite a few guys on those site bragging about how they are driving the best truck out there and how it can out pull and out perform the other brands.

Again, I will say that we are all ehthusiast and brand loyalty is part of that.

Now in saying that I don't put all Dodge or Cummins owners in one group, but you guys are definatly the most brand loyal.

Maybe we are, maybe not? This is a matter of opinion. I personally do not feel of the three I can pick a group who is most brand loyal.

One interesting point to note, at the time of this post www.thedieselstop.com has 29,198 registered users,

www.thedieselpage.com has 8894, and the TDR has 14,796. This is a group of almost 53k enthusiast who feel that we are driving the best (whatever our choice may be).

Are TDR members brand loyal? You bet! Are we willing to defend our pride and joy in a little friendly debate? Yep! Are the Ford and Chevy guys any different? Nope, not in my opinion.

Mr. Decampo apparently we have a difference of agreement. There is nothing wrong with that. If we were all the same we'd all be driving Dodge Cummins trucks. If that were the case, some of the fun of being an enthusiast would be eliminated :)

Have a nice day,

Ryan

Ryan,

Nicely put! It is guys like you that make the TDR a top notch place.

I'm glad there are guys like jdecampo on the TDR that keep Dodge Cummins owners on the straight and narrow. god bless him!

Well most guys on the ford site will almost admit to you that yeah the cummins is a better engine, but ford offers more cupholders or whatever. All of them except for that Kenworth ******.

I edited out some personal attacks, and the phrases pertaining to them. Please refrain from personal jabs. Sorry it took me so long to read this thread.

I now see how loyal some of you are.

:{ :{

My point about topics about other brands is easy to see. Read and The GM site and see how many posts there are about Dodge trucks, now read this one and compare.

If I wasn't here it would be all you guys sitting in a circle patting each other on the back, what fun would that be?

Why don't you just leave. I don't go to the ford or chevy sites and complain about their attitudes. This site is for Cummins enthusiast's so of course we don't have high regards for the other two brands.

Why leave? I am a Cummins fan as well, but I don't think anything else is junk. They all have the strong points.

With almost half the number of registered members of course their is going to be fewer post over there, whether it be about Dodge or Duramax.

(as of 9:40 pm Eastern Time) Today on the GM site they had they have 41 active topics. Today on the TDR there has been 176 active topics. Like I said you are going to see more D-Max bashing here (in good fun of course ; ) than you are going to see Dodge bashing over there.

jdecampo,

I don't think anyone is asking you to leave (other then Bill) in fact I am asking you to tell us the strong points of the 6. 5, 6. 2, and 5. 7 gm diesels.

Of course you should start a new thread about the strong points of them since the original intent of this thread was the 1K HP dmax, not brand loyalty among-st owners.

I cannot think of any strong points of the 6. 5 or 5. 7 gm diesels. AFAIK, these motors were responsible for making the general public think most if not all diesel powered vehicles belch smoke, break down all the time, and cannot climb hills at the legal speed limit. Please enlighten us on the merits of these motors because I cannot think of any.

LOL :D

LAMAF

diesel freak your killing me I haven't laughed like that in a while. I'll have to share that one. :D

I can handle the bashing, in fun or not. I do enjoy a lively debate, thats also a reason to visit.

Now the 6. 5, good points? Lets say this was my 1st diesel I bought and I didn't know anything about them at the time but the smell got me thinking. I know some of you were born with diesel in the blood but most learn as they go. I have no regrets about the 6. 5. It has never left me stranded or not pulled what I want. I have ran it on the dyno, the sled pulls and the pulls at a truck show in VT for the last three years and no trouble at all.

Bash away boys.
