Check this out! Dennis Hurst, Executive Engineer of Cummins will give us a talk and is bringing a cutaway ISBe "common rail" 325 hp, 600 ft lb engine as a display. He is the "father" of this engine, the powerplant of our third generation Rams.

11:00 AM “Turbochargers and the Future” by Jim O’Donohoe, Borg Warner Turbo Systems



1:30 PM Engine Developments by Dennis Hurst, Executive Engineer, Cummins (the father of the ISBe engine in our 2003-2004. 5 Rams). Cut-away 2004. 5 ISBe “600” engine on display.



Saitta-Trudeau Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge, Pahrump, NV is hosting a get-together 4-8 PM, with a cold-cut spread for dinner, a survey of Ram engineering advances, and a Show-n-Shine ($150 first place; $100 second place, $50 third place).

Directions to Pahrump:

Turn right onto Boulder Highway from Arizona Charlie’s. Just before the overpass of US 93/95/ I-515, take the entrance ramp on the right. Take I-515 to I-15 South (the first off-ramp on the right at the intersection of these highways). Go about 10 miles on I-15 S and get off at Exit 33, Blue Diamond Highway 160. Bear right onto 160 and go about 50 miles to Pahrump. About 1 block after the intersection (with stoplight) of 160 and 372 in Pahrump, make a right turn on Oxbow and go one block to the dealership at the corner of Wahkaikum.

Thursday May 6

Silver State Motorsports is holding Dyno Days, 9 AM- 3 PM (Vendors are welcome) at Las Vegas Speedway. $50 for 2 pulls. Be sure to wear your May Madness badge to qualify for a trophy!



Directions to Dyno Days at Silver State

Take Exit 54 from I-15 (North of Las Vegas). Turn right at the bottom of Exit 54 off-ramp, turn right immediately after Petro truck stop, turn left through gate in fence and go to Q building; alternatively turn right after Shelby building, go to Bldg. Q



Vendors may set up at Silver State or the Arizona Charlie’s parking garage.



1-2 PM “introduction to the Turbo Diesel” or a primer for beginners, by Robert Patton (editor and head of TDR)



Lake Mead Cruises is holding a dinner cruise (reservations, only during pre-registration). Boat departs at 6:30 PM. You must be there by 6 PM. There is a $5 fee per vehicle by the National Park Service to enter the Lake Mead Recreation area. You MUST have your May Madness cruise ticket for admission.





Directions to the Dinner Cruise



Turn right onto Boulder Highway, turn left just after the overpass to go South on I-515/US 93&95. Continue on US93 past the Railroad Pass Casino (on your left) and into and part way through Boulder City. Turn left at the 2nd light, which is Hwy. 93. Go 4 miles on Hwy 93 until you come to a sign that says “Lake Mead Beaches and Marina”. There is a building on your left at the intersection. Go past the Guard Shack in the middle and make an immediate right. Make another right at the sign that says “Las Vegas Boat Harbor Handicapped Pier”.

Friday May 7

Silver State Motorsports is holding Dyno Days, 9 AM- 3 PM at Las Vegas Speedway, Exit 54 of I-15. Building Q-Suite 103 (Vendors are welcome. $50 for 2 pulls. Be sure to wear your May Madness badge to qualify for a trophy!



Vendors may set up at Silver State or the Arizona Charlie’s parking garage.



Massage Therapy by the Academy of Healing Arts, 10 AM – 2 PM, RV Park office.



2-4 PM “Some Idiosyncrasies of Generation Three Rams,” by John Holmes, for new and prospective Cummins Turbo Diesel Ram owners. Arizona Charlie’s RV Park Office



Las Vegas Speedway (I-15, Exit 54) will be holding their Evening Test-n-Tune Drag Racing. Their gate opens at 5 PM, drag racing is from 6-10 PM, $20 entry fee. They are also holding Midnight Mayhem drags 10 PM – 2 AM, $10 entry fee. Midnight Mayhem is “grudge” racing where any two vehicles can choose to run each other--like street racing but legal. Be sure to wear your May Madness badge to qualify for a trophy!
