Ok I just sent a member the money for a #11 plate made by Bullydog for my truck, Is there any special things I need to do when I install this? I have just put a #6 in a 95 with 236,000 miles on it and it blew though the clutch this weekend pulling a 13,000 pound trailer. The owner loves it!! It had the stock clutch in it from the factory. I am going to use his template from TST to install this in the stock location. Wonder if I will fill any difference in power? I have a 96 215hp 5 speed. Any sugestions would be helpful!

thanks Jeff Waters;) :p

I have had a #11 for two years now. Have tinkered with the position and am now at . 030 forward of stock. With all the other mods, I can pull my 14k 5'er in 4th over without the egt's getting out of range. Lots more power than stock, but am not heavy with the foot. Have a 3k kit I will be installing soon, and making a few other adjustments as well. Still with the original clutch, though am getting a little concerned about the pilot and release bearing.

I have never dinoed, but think I am in the range of 290, 650 range. Wife thinks I am in the market for a new rig. I tell her I would not trade for a new Dodge just to get two extra doors and some cosmetics.

Thats with plate full forward. I usually run it back from full forward about 1/8" for smoke control especially when towing. I had more clutch problems when empty than when towing because I dont go hammer down when towing so boost doesnt go as high. With Con OFE there is no slipping. The #11 is a nice plate, have fun.

JWaters,

Go to Piers site and look up the governor lever adjustment. Oh, heck, here! .

Do that when you install the plate.

After that, save up for the 3K governor spring kit. For the price and the relative ease of install (in fact, it would be very easy to do while installing the plate), it's a must-do mod.

why do I need the springs? My truck pulls to 3200 already and it has since i got it off of the truck!

Well, if you're happy with how the truck pulls up to those revs, then never mind about the spring kit! You have a good set-up, it sounds like.

Most of the late model 12valves tend to begin defueling at 26 to 2800 rpms or there abouts. On a quick run through the gears, you can see 3200 revs. In those instances, I can pull to 3400 or 3500 revs with the kit. The kit gives you a wider power band to handle that big jump from 3rd to 4th.

So, by all means, if you're happy with the upper end, leave it alone! Put the money elsewhere. Perhaps after you install the plate things will change and you may reconsider. In any case, its a great mod for the price.

Jwaters,

I would inquire about being able to trade up in plates. I know TST allows this. Only cost ya $50 bucks to trade up to another(bigger) plate. You'll want to one day!

Yea my truck will pull to 3100@107 MPH certified by speedometer and GPS in 5th Gear. It will run 3200 at no load, now my friends 95 will only turn 2800, I dont know why but I bought my truck in 96 and had to wait for it to be built. It has always ran that fast, I just got done cruzin at 100 today on the way home. I friend in a 94 z71 had to try me, he can only run 99 before he shuts off, so after I pulled about 4 truck lenths on him from 70 mph up I just cruzed at 100 until he gave up trying to catch me... heheh
