Yesterday I made a 1100 mile trip from WA to eastern MT. RIght off the bat, while I waiting for the ladies to load up, I thought I heard the infamous EZ idle surge. Oh yeah, I dont have that anymore - now I have the Quad Xzillaraider. After about 150 miles I turned on the cruise control, set it at about 82 and got set for a long day of right cheek-left cheek numbness fighting. Right away it felt like the Cummins was revving a couple hundred rpms, dropping, then doing it again, and again. But a quick check showed that the RPMs stayed constant, but my booost was bouncing from about 11 to 14 or 15 lbs. It would do this with the Xz on levels 2,3, and 4. On 1 (or off), I thought I could hear a little surge, but it wasnt noticable on the boost guage. So I drove the remainder fo trip without the cruise, and it seemed fairly normal. It did seem like the motor just wanted to keep going faster, I'm not sure how to describe it, but it required me to be light with the foot to keep it from accelerating rather than maintaing a constant speed. I did NOT rechecked my connectors yet, but I'll be doing that today, as tomorrow we have a little 300 mile jaunt for the ladies to get haircuts (yeah, long story there).

Quad, I'll probably be a calling you tomorrow to see if there are any other things I need to look at.

Other than that my seat of the pants stats:

Xz on level 3. Ran pretty much a steady 80+ through WA and ID (@400 miles). Then in MT I ran at 85 for the remaining 700miles. I filled up twice, first tank got 15. 5mpg, second got 15. 8 (calculated). Last tank just going by the guage (I havent filled it yet) I ran 515 miles, and it looks like its at about 1/8th tank left - so probably right around the 16 mark. These numbers would put right at what I ran stock, and with the EZ. So NO mpg increase. I didnt really expect any (sorry Quad), since I've become fairly jadded over manufactures mileage claims. Another thing I've noticed is that my overhead is reading right at what I'm calculating with the Quadzilla on. I expected a little "fooling" to be going on there... . ???

The power was much better than stock, and better than the EZ. It just felt more comfortable running at those speeds.
