Sorry if it seemed liked I was arguing, I’m not. I just never experienced axle hop at all with my 2500. Like I was saying, it was pretty darn planted. Of course my previous ‘95 had so much axle wrap that it consistently broke the spring clamps. I could never keep them on longer than a month. My ‘18 3500 doesn’t exhibit much axle wrap with the leaves, but I may not have put it in a scenario that shows it yet either.

No sweat! I was well pleased with the coils, overall. The stability of the new trucks when towing heavy is really quite amazing.

My 3/4 ton gasser is also forced to get registration and emissions annually; I was told because of the vehicle weight.

Thankfully it's tax deductible; or at least the big portion.

Tuesdak, I’m looking at similar years myself. Looking at your registration cost turns my stomach a little. Oh well, Gotta love Maricopa County!

FWIW If you are a veteran you get one AZ vehicle plate "cheap".

Is that close to you Nick?

Still looking or just casually browsing?

Yes, casual because my driver is kinda fizzling. I really don't need one, it is more of a want. So no hurry and looking for a plain cheaper one. This one fit the cheap and 2500 short bed, 4 door 4x4 auto, wrong color, I prefer white. I went and looked at it, but kinda scary. Body and under carriage is perfect, one small transmission pan leak. But it has a check engine light on and has been deleted. Under hood is real clean, clean engine oil but transmission is suspect, fluid stinks and is orange color.

It is in line for service/safety inspection and the light. I am thinking the owner had a clue and dumped it. The bed, rear seat area and front has junk all over. Per Car Fax he is the third owner and only 8 months. I have first dibs if the check engine light is fixable.

I just love these sales guys...he said I need to be serious because the "Dezzel" is a hot item, Lol. I told him I would wait for the service report and the sales manager agreed that would be smart for both parties, so just waiting now. They are local so that helps.

That's very possible. There's also some real shady individual tuners out there that do not know how to write a safe map.

I don't know the dealer or the history but generally a reputable dealer will know and fix the CEL before putting it out there for the public. If they are detailing the truck and ignoring the CEL it's time to be concerned.

I don't have a clue about the newer trucks and deletes and CEL's so I had my son help me look, he has a Diesel Performance shop. He knows the service manager really well, he has been there for years and is a good guy. But he can only do what the dealer will allow. They said the detail will be last but they also said some people will buy before servicing/safety/detail.

My son said the transmission can set a cel, I don't know. The tires are worn out and so is the drivers seat. No tow mirrors and no muffler:eek: it does have the integrated brake controller.

Here are some real pictures, it's dirty and the batteries were dead. He offered to jump it, I said no, let them fix it first. It does have new brakes all the way around, including calipers, I couldn't tell if the rotors were new but they looked fine. Oh ya it's at a Chevy dealer, lol.

The picture you posted show tow mirrors. You have to flip them up.

Update:

The dealer called and said the truck has too many issues and is not sellable....

I wonder what they are? If a guy bought it for peanuts and fixed it himself....

Could just be the fact it is deleted and when service got it they reminded sales it is illegal for the dealer to sell it. I bought a deleted truck off a dealer about 5 years ago and I was required to have it towed off the lot. They didn't want to get popped for selling a deleted truck. Making it be towed off the lot allowed them to sell as a non-running truck.

If it's a reputable dealer they won't sell a vehicle that can't pass an inspection. This could be safety or emissions related. If it can't pass both the vehicle generally ends up at auction. It frees the dealership of any litigation and keeps their reputation up by not dealing with shady vehicles.

I mean this as a compliment. Most people aren't you Nick :)
