Every time I buy a new or used vehicle, I seem to always get hosed:)

What can I expect (with prices like they are) for a discount off of sticker price. Cummins has a $750 discount right now. I know some of you guys are good at being mean to the dealers:D

Looking at a '20, 2500 Tradesman @ 54K. I have about give up on used. They are going for $35k high mileage and $45k low mileage as far back as '11 and '12's.

You should be able to get a decent deal on a 20' since the 21's are on the lot now, I got mine for ~12k off list, the main reason I didn't order one but it had been on the lot for a month or so.

It’s an interesting market right now. My 18 books for more than I bought it for 2 years ago, even clean trade-in value is what I paid. I guess it’s a good time to sell a used truck, but not to buy one.

I had a bad itch to trade 2017 Ram 5500 Laramie for 2021 Ram 3500 Laramie CC LB SRW. Got text Cml Mgr wanted to see my truck before paying $65K for it, so I said OK. Then turned out he was out of the office on Saturday. Deal would have been owe $18K out the door on the 2021, $82K sticker. Wife and I talked why I didn't like 5500 anymore, I said I do like it. She said why get rid of it? I said the words I never thought would pass my lips: "It's more truck than I need." DW used my OWN words against me, smart girl. "I thought more truck than you need is a GOOD thing." She was right, and my want for the new truck faded away.

Anhoo, I'm driving 5500 3 to 5 times a week now, about the same as the Jeep. High oh Silver Away, :p:D:cool:

If the itch continues it is the best time to trade. A 3500 is still likely more truck than needed. :D

Got another BAD itch that I keep telling myself DON'T SCATCH. :rolleyes: EBay had a complete delete kit for a Ram 5500 and I'm in the LAND OF DELETES.;):D So many deleted late model trucks down here.... AND I still have the stacks from my former 09 Ram 4500. So please, help me NOT scratch... does anyone have the phone number to Diesel Delete Anonymous:eek:o_O:p

BTW, Took 5500 in for annual vehicle inspection, no emmisions testing equipment connected to my truck, but inpector checked that emissions parts were intact on my truck.

Cheers, Ron

$12k off sticker:eek:

I doubt I can get more than 10%. Maybe it is just me but after 7 vehicles from this dealer in the last 30 years, I know they are tight wads.

$54k sticker, so $5,400 discount? Is that okay or no...

They have a '16, Bighorn with 120k miles for $40k but I am scared of it. I have three trucks now that are old and tired. I would like to have one I don't need to work on for a few years. But dang, $54k is a lot for me.

I will help you scratch:D

My son can't stand stock, so 2 '12's and 2 '16's are DEF free. His new '18 5500 still has it, I think:)

Seems to be inline with what I am seeing going on around here in my neck of the woods at "this time" mine was $84K, I paid 72 ish.. But it was EOY in Dec and they were trying to move products... I am in total agreement with you on not paying for a truck with 100k+ miles.. they are still in the 40Ks and 50Ks here... 2 year old trucks with over 100k on em.. No thank you at 20% less than new.. Id rather pay a little more and have a new one.

It has the gooseneck prep. Does that mean the hitch is under the bed and all I need is the ball and safety chain kit? I don't need the fifth wheel hitch.

This dealer has 3 stores, but yet, they only have two diesel trucks, both '20 models, no 21's at all in diesel. That is, if the web site is current.

Gonna go see them today.

I am not sure, but I think all you need a ball and chain kit..:D Pun intended....

I had the B&W installed in mine because it was not there from the factory..

Wait for the 2021's with the CP3's to go on sale or offer the same price as the 'on sale' '20. You have waited this long: why compromise? Now it's either new or forget it with the insane used prices.

The '20 will likely need a updated HVAC box for cold AC and roll the dice on the CP4 mistake. IMO run the old ones vs. a CP4...

Look at other out of state dealers. ID had good stock and $10k off last I looked. Changed since maybe.

I would have bought the '20 but they sold it last week. All they had left was one Bighorn, too spendy for me. I told him since I had to wait for stock shipment or a dealer trade, I wanted a '21. He gave me the heads up salesman speech, "it is a sellers market".....I said, "yes I know, but I ain't paying MSRP!!" He just kinda looked at me with that we will see look, Lol
