Thanks for the link info. I have not looked out of state due to warranty claims. Dealers are slow to help outside sales of their brand. However, it is hard to pass up 10% off sticker that a lot of dealers have posted right up front. I looked at some in Texas since I will be picking up my new trailer soon. I can get both maybe.

Austin has several '21 Tradesman 2500's with a $57k list for $6k off. Brownfield, TX has several also (I pass right by there) but no discount listed on line. They might match Austin. It appears the '21 has went up $3k over the 20's.

I keep linking 1 tons... Yeah the price has gone up. Regardless you can show the local dealer they need to be competitive. If someone else will pay more you are still SOL and this is the case in low inventory AZ.

I would call BS for service delays on trucks purchased elsewhere. As "Service" is getting bad everywhere.

Lately it's hard to get ahold of a service advisor or get a call back re: both GMC and RAM service. I don't use my selling dealer often, but, a closer one that stocks useless to me Urban Cowboy shortbeds. My selling dealer, a RAM only "experiment" dealer, is understaffed since early 2019 (by design, small store, management attitude) and You Simply Can't Get Ahold of Service Advisors There.

Might check into taxes. I took AZ delivery of an out of state dealer (highly modded) new vehicle so I only had AZ sales taxes to deal with. Dealer can pay you $1 to deliver it to AZ. Some states do not have sales taxes while others like CA make you pay it and then deal with AZ too.

Also watch City Sales tax in AZ. I've bought a couple vehicles out of state and a couple months after registering it got a bill for Chandler sales tax. If you buy in a AZ city you don't get hit for that even if that city had less sales tax.

Per Auto Trader, there are only two, white '21, 2500's in the Phoenix area, with no gooseneck prep and five '20's, no prep.

I guess like my trailers, will have to look in Texas.

If it works out, anything wrong with hooking on to the trailer, loading up the car and towing home with maybe 100 miles on it?

Dealer installed wiring and B&W hitch in my truck for $750 since it did not have it from the factory.. Not bad, I did not feel like dealing with it and they did a really clean install.

I have a 2012 2500 Cummins Laramie w/8ft bed...373 rear... I tow my horses with both a steel bumper pull and a gooseneck... I specifically bought this truck new to avoid the DEF system... 107000 high country miles, meticulously maintained.... it has been bulletproof .... very happy with it

I would think since it's not a heavy load and if you're not have to deal with high grades you'd be fine. Keep the speeds down on the tow home also. be a nice break in ride home to get acquainted with how she'll handle with trailer. This is what's in the 2014 OM for my truck, not the diesel supplement. Diesel supplement doesn't list anything about towing when new. So it looks like you'd need to fly to go get her for drive home or have her shipped home. Just find the truck for the price you want and go get her!!!!

Do not tow a trailer at all during the first 500 miles
(805 km) the new vehicle is driven. The engine, axle
or other parts could be damaged.
• Then, during the first 500 miles (805 km) that a
trailer is towed, do not drive over 50 mph (80 km/h)
and do not make starts at full throttle. This helps
the engine and other parts of the vehicle wear in at
the heavier loads.

How about drive the car down, evaluate the truck and the deal, and if it all works out...rent a tow dolly from U Haul and tow the car back?

Wouldn't put too much faith in autotrader. Earnhart CDJ website shows 3 white 2500 with 5th Wheel / Gooseneck Towing Prep Group. They are all Short beds though.

I also have a new trailer in Texas so that is why I was looking at trucks there. I finally asked my son for some help:D He is retired military and sold Ford's For Phil Long Ford in Colorado. He since moved to Chandler and now sells Mercedes, so no Rams, but he might find me one:)

My son also told me not to take the Texas discount to the bank, there is usually fine print and might be region specific.

I feed the RAM Trucks website zip codes to see what is where then look at the dealer site. It could use more than 250 miles and a "NO DRW" toggle, but, when wanting a 50 gal tank, 5th wheel prep, and other specific options it speeds the search up.

Thanks for the link, that is a cool tool. It says there are no '21, 2500, White Tradesman 4x4's, shortbed/hitch prep within 250 miles. I did find a low optioned Bighorn for $3k more than the Tradesman.

I did not pick a good year to buy a new or used truck. I have been watching a used one here local that I don't want and it has went up twice in two months, $2k total. That is unheard of. Can't find what I want anywhere in Arizona so I am waiting on an in-transit buy. Estimated ship date is 4/28 with an arrival date of 2nd or 3rd week of May...or? lol

It does have an option I am not aware of and neither is my son. On the factory build sheet (not window sticker) it says "extra 5.5 gallons of fuel". What does that mean? Is that what the factory furnishes with the truck or is that a bigger than normal tank?

I do like the '12 for rear axle gears v/s '13 and up. I do like the '13 because of the old style frame, leaf springs, one radiator and intercooler where it belongs.

I had a customer come all the way from Phoenix to pickup some cow manure. He was driving a new Ram 2500 rental and towing a rental dump trailer.

I was all over that 2500:D I had not ever gotten a good look at one. My first impression is it was massive. I will need to carry a milk crate to check the oil:eek:

It is way bigger than my '01 in every way, and the intercooler is back in the cooling stack of the grill, I like that.

Still waiting on an update from my son....he is in Vegas on vacation so not tending to business:D

So were (are all) the intercoolers now down under the radiator? I saw that for the first time last night when it was on the lift for the 5k rotation and drainging / checking things... I thought it must've been re-located because the radiator / condenser were behind the active doors to open/close for cooling and reduce drag...
