What size are the injectors from a '98 12v, compared to ours? A friend of mine is up grading to a set of 370's. I think his truck had 215 hp stock, please correct me if I am wrong. I was wondering how much of an upgrade these would be for me.

None at all. Your injection lines will not bolt up to those 2nd gen 12V injectors. 2nd gen injectors pop at a much higher pressure than your VE can produce or higher than 1st gen injectors and would have to be recalibrated. Then you'd have to do something with the lines etc. Get yourself a set of POD's.

I agree that the 215s will NOT be an upgrade worth doing.

But you can make them fit with your fuel lines. You will need to swap the new tips into your upper bodies, then have them calibrated for pressure.

Now if you were going to do that to a set of 370s that would be an upgrade... . but still a little short of what the PODs can give you without all the hassle.

Thanks guys, I didn't look at them and didn't really know. Maybe I'll steal his 370's while he's at work. :-laf I'm leaning towards PODs any way, just wish there was someone in the area with them to see how they run, smoke, etc.

What would the power difference be between 370s and PODs?

It depends on the injector flow that the tech sets them too. You also have to have the pump to back the higher flow that you are looking for. A stock POD will out flow a stock 370 anyday. If you are wanting to out flow the PODs you are going to spend some money for custom work. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Also the injectors that I am talking about is off Ebay. After shipping I spent about $350. They are the true PODs and are brand new. I was well satisifed with them.

Hail Lucas prince of darkness. That's where they get their name. Anyone who has ever worked on a British car knows about the notoriously problematic Lucas electrical systems. Fortnately for us they got these injectors right.

If you can take 370's and rework them to work with the VE's, Is it possible to rework some 24 Valve injectors like the DD Stage 5 Jammer's and make them work? When your looking for somthing a lot hotter than the POD's what are your option's.

Thanks

Swank, I've been thinking about that. I know member 'glhs' has a set of his the DD4's I believe. My only concern was he said he only gained 2psi of boost with them. Whether or not that means anything I don't know. Sounded like they gave 'about' the same power, just cleaned up the idle haze. For the price, I'll stick with a little idle haze. Mine's not even really noticeable. If I'm gonna drop $800-1000 I want some 600hp injectors :--) :-laf :-laf ...

Edit: He had POD's before the DD4's.
